POSITION: Maintenance Technician
LOCATION: Westlake, OH 44145
REPORTS TO: Maintenance Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Maintenance technician will work independently and with other plant personnel to perform
preventative, predictive and routine maintenance tasks. They will troubleshoot issues, repair failures of
production and facilities equipment, and ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All
tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of the company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES:
 Repair and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as cut lines, conveyors, compressors,
shears, turret presses, press brakes and pumps.
 Repair or replace control devices such as switches, photo eyes, proximity sensors, pushbuttons,
contactors, motor starters, etc. as needed
 Perform work order repairs, inspections and adjustments.
 Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working
equipment.
 Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment.
 Participates in plant safety, health and environmental programs.
 Will sign off on equipment inspections performed by operators daily at the start of each
operating shift.
 Must be able to work overtime as required.
 Must be willing to work a changing shift schedule and on a rotating weekend on call list.
 Other duties as assigned.
Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:
 High school diploma or GED required.
 Have at least 3 years experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics and basic electrical
repair.

Maintenance Technician Job Description





Ability to read and interpret documents and drawings.
Ability to write detailed repair reports as well as good verbal communication.
Post-secondary education and/or a technical trade certificate is an asset.
Operate Tow Motors, Scissor Lifts, Waves and Walkies.
Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, and the ability to learn how to
effectively use maintenance software to input data and research parts.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
 Preventative maintenance.
 Electrical and mechanical facility maintenance.
 Machine trouble shooting.
 Repair propane gas and electric Cat lift trucks.
 Trouble shooting ABB drives, Mitsubishi drives, Quantum 111 drives, CNC Fanuc controls,
Warner Swasey CNC and Cincinnati Form Master.
 Ability to read electrical blueprints and schematics.
 Welding and fabrication.
 Demonstrates verbal and written communication skills to interact effectively with other people.
 Basic computer skills.
 Must be customer focused.
 Ability and willingness to meet high-pressure deadlines.
Physical Demands:
 Must be able to lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
 Must be able to work in standing/walking position in excess of eight hours a day.
 Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations
Work Environment:
 Must be able to tolerate exposure to dust, fumes, grease, oils, lubes, noise, temperature and
other elements in the shop area.
 PPE requirements, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Arm Guards, Ear Plugs, Steel Toe Boots and Welding
Shield.
