Flowers for Harvest Festival On Sunday 27th September I will be putting out baskets in the school room. These are for people to take to fill with flowers for Harvest Sunday service. They need to be at the church, if possible, on
Saturday morning 3rd October or brought to the service. Ladies (and gentlemen) I am relying on you!! Gil
Harvest Service Owing to the continuing need to supply people coming to the Food bank, it has been decided that we will help support this, by giving our Harvest gifts to them for the October 4th Harvest service. The Trussell Trust run most of the food banks, and supply people with three days food, in order to help them over a difficult patch or whilst awaiting for their allowances to come in. They supplied 1,084,604 meals in 2014-2015 which was a rise of 19% on 2013-2014 figure. There were 445 food banks and over one third of the needs were for children. The current needs for the Food bank are Tinned Custard, Tinned Rice Pudding, Sugar 500gm, Sponge puddings, Long Life Juices, Coffee,
Tinned Meat and Chicken in gravy, Toilet rolls, Baby wipes, Washing up liquid, Black bin bags. Many thanks to all for you continuing support.
Harvest Ploughman's Supper Next Saturday 3rd October we shall be having our Harvest Supper at 7 pm. Please do come along and share a ploughman's supper and dessert with tea and coffee afterwards. There will be no charge for this meal but any donations towards church fundraising would be gratefully received. There will be a Beetle Drive after the meal and so do come along for thanks, fellowship and fun!!! Please put your name on the list during refreshments. In true tradition - if you would like to bring a dessert along - please put that on the list as well!
Help Needed We need to prepare the English room for Harvest. Could we please have help to set this up on Saturday
October 3rd, starting at 3pm. This will also then be used on Sunday to celebrate Keith’s birthday lunch.
Keith’s Special Birthday As you know, we are celebrating Keith’s special birthday next Sunday (4 th October). We are going to have a collection for him during refreshments and then will present him with his gift during the service.
Flower Rota Thanks to all those on the flower rota, all the spaces are now filled.
