OpenScape Business V1 – Sales Information – Update
Release Model X1
Effectively as of the 7th of July 2014, the OpenScape Business V1 Model X1
has been released for sale for all direct and indirect sales channels. A list of
countries for which the X1 has been released can be found at the end of this
General release (M3) for the OpenScape Business X1 is planned for the 31st
of July 2014.
End users in this segment are also increasingly recognizing the importance of
Unified Communications for efficiency gains and improved customer service.
The prerequisite for achieving those benefits are flexible, adaptable and cost
effective solutions.
OpenScape Business X1 is an affordable system, which is specifically tailored
to the SME segment and positioned below the OpenScape Business X3. The
supported feature set includes professional voice, UC and mobility functions
for small offices, branch offices and home offices. Functions such as
presence management, visual voicemail, voicemail to email and desktop
dialing are pre-installed on the system and only need to be activated via
OpenScape Business X1 has the following capacities:

Important: The OpenScape Business X1 capacity cannot be extended by
adding additional peripheral cards. The use of the UC Suite solution is not
supported. OpenScape Business X1 can, however, be part of a network with
the other OpenScape Business models.
OpenScape Business X1 is running on the same software as the OpenScape
_ Business models (V1R3), which means that the following functions are also
applicable to the X1.
OpenScape Business offers small and medium-sized enterprises everything
they need for their individual and diverse communication requirements, unified
in a single flexible and scalable solution.
The OpenScape Business architecture allows independent use of the existing
telephony infrastructure – regardless of whether this is classic telephony, IP or
DECT. From powerful telephony to a feature-rich Unified Communication (UC)
solution, OpenScape Business always provides enterprises with up to 500
subscribers, or 1000 subscribers in one network, with the right solution.
OpenScape Business combines the best of OpenScape Office and
HiPath 3000 in a new solution platform. The existing all-in-one concept will be
transferred to the next generation of UC solutions. OpenScape Business
provides a good migration path for existing HiPath 3000 customers to
optimize their communication.
With the step 3.1 of OpenScape Business the functionality of the UC Suite,
UC-Smart and Mobility will be further expanded to offer customers additional
value and usability. All the implemented functions are described below and
marked "NEW". The step 3.1 software will be released as an update at the
end of July.
The OpenScape Business family consists of the following deployment models:
OpenScape Business S, available on Standard Server or virtualized
OpenScape Business X3R and X5R, available as Rack mount
OpenScape Business X3W and X5W, available as wall mount
OpenScape Business X8, available as rack or as stand solution
OpenScape Business X1 NEW, available as wall mount solution
The feature set of the OpenScape Business models is independent of the
selected deployment model with the exception of the X1 model, which
supports a subset of certain features.

Alternatively operation of the OpenScape Business software on a
standard server (softswitch) or in fully virtualized environments
UC for up to 30 users (UC Smart) for the X1, integrated into the
mainboard, UC for up to 50 users (UC Smart) for X3/X5/X8 integrated
into the mainboard, expandable to up to 150 users (UC Suite) with the
UC Booster Card or up to 500 users (UC Suite) with the external UC
Booster Server
Voice and UC functionality on a network wide basis
All subscriber interfaces provided: IP, digital, analog and DECT, as
well as support for all current trunk interfaces for voice communication

Smart up-to-date Software Maintenance
OpenScape Business V1 includes access to free system software
updates for a period of three years, from the date the system license
has first been activated.
With each release of a new OpenScape Business SW version, within
the 3 year SW maintenance period, an upgrade license will be
provided automatically to the end customer license server account for
each licensed OpenScape Business system.
Partner Support V1
Partner Support V1 is the new Indirect Channel service offering,
including Remote Service Platform as described in the service circular
SEN SER MMS Circular 7/2013. Partner Support V1 is included with
OpenScape Business V1 for a 3 year period following license
