Seachtain na Gaeilge 1 - 17ú Márta
Cúpla Focal
Na bígí scanraithe roimh an nGaailge-Is ár dteanga ár gcultúr agus
is féidir linn go léir a bheith líofa mas mian linn.Níl sé deacair creid
é nó ná creid! Don’t be fearful of the Irish language-It’s our
language- and our culture. It’s within all our grasps-believe it or
not!Chonaiceamar le blianta beaga anuas go bhfuil Gaeilge blasta
ag a lán de na páistí i gCarra.Gach bliain i rith Seachtain na
Gaeilge déanann na páistí an- iarracht a bheith ag caint agus ag
comhrá as Gaeilge.
Tugann Seachtain na Gaeilge deis dúinn ar fad trial a bhaint as an
Ghaeilge a úsaíd in áit agus i slí nach mbíonn sí in úsáid again go
hiondúil.
Téigh síos Memory Lane agus féach ar na frásaí a chuireamar le
chéile le haghaidh tuismuitheoirí cosúil leatsa. Má tá fadhb agat
cuir ceist ar do leanbh nó ar an múinteoir. Bain triail as.
We have seen in the past that many pupils in Caragh N.S. have a
fluency in the Irish Language. Every year during Seachtain na
Gaeilge pupils make a great effort to speak and use their Irish. Go
down Memory Lane and look and listen on the C.N.S. website at the
phrases we have put together for parents just like you. If you have
a problem, ask your child or his/her teacher. Go on give it a go.

Basketball
The league ended on Thursday 12th Feb. with our
boys losing out narrowly in the final to Gaelscoil, Cill
Dara. It just didn’t happen on the day for our boys
but it was a tremendous achievement to be the first Caragh boys
team to reach a final. The girls had been knocked out in
the semi-final by Cookstown. To add to a great year we
acquired a beautiful set of vest and shorts for both
thanks to a kind and generous donation. Mention has to
be made of Sinead Darcy (6th class) who designed our
school logo on the vests. Next for both teams is a one

School Saving Scheme…
At Naas Credit Union we think saving is a very important
life skill. We have partnered with 12 local primary schools to run a
School Savings Scheme.
The benefits of teaching children about money early on are both
immediate and long term. In the short term, they may develop
strong saving habits, learn how to make smart purchases and learn
why they can't immediately get everything they want. In the long
term, it helps them avoid getting into debt. And by teaching the
value of saving for the future, it puts them on the road to financial
security.
Taking part in the scheme gives the children the opportunity to save
in the school on a regular basis and earns a double dividend for the
school, raising much needed vital funds for school activities.
Remember Naas Credit Union operate from the school every
Thursday for 4th, 5th + 6th class pupils.
If you are interested in learning more about the scheme, please contact :
