Dear Ms. Jacinto:
I am representing Golden Oak Montessori School (GO), a tuition-free public charter school in its sixth
year of existence that provides quality education for children in the City of Hayward. GO has an
enrollment of over 200 students in grades first through 8th, and introduces our diverse community to the
child-centered Montessori education method, which offers an alternative educational option in Hayward.
GO also gives priority in our admissions lottery to students from underperforming schools and serves a
socioeconomically challenged population.
Our families, students, teachers, and staff have much to be thankful for during our first six years of
existence, and we could not have done it without the generosity of individuals and businesses in our
community.
Our school’s annual dinner and auction is one of our largest fundraisers, and helps us maintain a low
student-teacher ratio, while also funding both P.E. and Spanish classes. We are currently planning this
year’s event for March 21, 2015. We are expecting another sold-out audience for this year’s auction.
We need your help. Your contribution of goods, services, gift certificates, personal creations, or
promotional items will be greatly appreciated by GO staff, parents, and students. The financial success
of our event truly depends on these donations.
As you may be aware, your donation would be tax deductible. In addition to this benefit, we also plan to
post a brief description of your donation on our auction website, and all of our families and guests that
attend the auction will see your donation in our large screen slide show.
