The Cougar Cross Country team has another successful race under their belt this season. The
lady runners took first place and the men's team took second against Eastern Guilford and
Eastern Alamance on Tuesday afternoon. Scoring for the ladies: first place Tori Martin; also
scoring were Hailey Rizza, Hannah Rizza, Hannah King, and Makayla Hayes. Scoring for the
men were: Samuel Moore, Adam Buck, Matthew Wilson, Matthew Chilton, Ben Isley, and
Hunter Kelly. The Cougar Cross Country Teams records: women - 11/0 and men 11/2. Our next
meet is our toughest against Northern and Burlington Williams at Northern next Tuesday. Please
come out and support your Cougar Runners.
Our Lady’s Tennis Team rolled to an easy win over Eastern Guilford yesterday 8-1. Singles
winners were Sarah Cochran, Mary Luking, Hailey Rizza, Ally Gagnon, Zoe Priddy, and Anna
Luking. Doubles winners were Cochran and Mary Luking along with Priddy and Anna Luking.
The team is 11 and 2 overall and 6 and 1 in conference play. The team has now locked up
second place in the conference and is headed to the state play-offs.
The Men's Soccer team lost a conference game to Eastern Alamance last night. Cole Everette
and Tristan Treacy-Roberts each scored a goal. Nathael Luna had an assist. Please come out
Monday for senior night. All students are admitted for $2. The Cougar Pep Band is playing pregame and the National Anthem.
All ROTC Homecoming Escorts need to meet on the track today after school at 3:05 to practice.
Everyone should go into Canvas and vote for three male and female members of the
homecoming court today.
Homecoming t-shirts will be sold this week for $15 during lunch. The t-shirts are long sleeve
and only cash will be accepted.
Thanks for the participation in the Pie for Players Fundraiser! Currently, Zach Bullard is
leading, followed closely by Tony DeLuna, and third is Josh Thomas. Votes will be taken until
Thursday in all three lunches!
“Rockin” the Red Carpet Spirit Days for next week are: Friday-Fandom Friday.
Underclass pictures will be taken on October 13th.
The next Teen Court Session will be 5:30, Monday, October 12th at the Wentworth Courthouse.
Nick Stadler will be on campus tomorrow at 10 am to talk to all perspective NCState Seniors. If
you would like to attend the informational meeting please stop by guidance TODAY for a note.
Student of Promise Applications are HERE!! Please stop by Mrs Hazelwood's office for an
application. We would love to have you join us! SOP students go down to the middle school as
their time allows and work with SOS students.
Sign Ups for Basketball Cheerleading will begin on Monday October 12th in the front office.
Tryouts will be held the week of October 19th. Remember you must have a physical on file in
order to tryout. Please see Mrs Guill or Mrs Hazelwood with questions.
Today and tomorrow the varsity cheerleaders will be selling breast cancer awareness items
during lunch. If you would like to purchase a luminary in honor or in memory of someone,
please see Lilly Kinney. Your support is greatly appreciated.
Seniors, make sure you are staying current with the available scholarships that are posted in
Canvas. Many deadlines are in October.
Attention students, especially juniors, the PSAT will be given on campus on October 14th. The
test is free. Juniors taking the PSAT, you may qualify for a Merit Scholarship. Please sign up in
guidance or in the main office. The PSAT is also open to freshmen in honors courses and all
sophomores.
