The Cougar Card
ƒ Official ID for CofC students, faculty, staff and campus
affiliates. (Refer to Family Calendar pg. 7 for Cougar Card Information.)
ƒ The first card is free! Replacement cards for students
are $10. Lost cards may not be reactivated.
ƒ Public Safety requests students carry it at all times on
campus.

ƒ In person – Card Office, funds receive
immediate credit
ƒ In person – Treasurer’s Office (Calhoun St. next to
Starbucks), funds availability subject to a one
hour delay

ƒ Students: MyCharleston, Academic Services, eDeposit
tab, select the term & Cougar Cash or Dining Dollars.
Enter the amount and preferred payment method.
Confirm to process.
ƒ Authorized Users: From www.cofc.edu, open the
parent link, select eBill & log on. Use the eDeposit tab,
select the term & Cougar Cash or Dining Dollars. Enter
the amount and preferred payment method. Confirm to
process.
Stored Value Deposits
ƒ Web deposits are not in real time, funds are
available one hour after deposit
ƒ Dining Dollars and Cougar Cash deposits are
not subject to a convenience fee
ƒ Sorry, credit card payments are not accepted by
telephone

1st fl. copy room, cash only for immediate
credit, $1 minimum deposit

Important to Know
ƒ Cougar Cash and Dining Dollars balances roll
over as long as the student has an open
matriculation
ƒ Cash may not be withdrawn
ƒ Refunds for balances of $10 or more may be
requested upon withdrawal, leave of absence or
graduation
ƒ No fees are charged, accounts will not overdraw
Financial Responsibility
ƒ In 2010, college seniors, graduated with average
card debt of $4,138 (Sallie Mae)
ƒ More than 80% of graduating seniors have credit
card debt before they have a job (learnvest.com)
ƒ Discuss money management throughout the
College experience
ƒ The Cougar Card is one tool that may be helpful
for budgeting

• Cougar Card Services will be open movein weekend, Saturday, August 18 and
Sunday, August 19, 2012
