“15th” Day of School
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS:
Please be advised that all students are to be supervised after school. Therefore, students are not
allowed to "hang around" after school without being supervised by an adult. This also includes
students "hanging around" at the West Jr. High School.
The School Store is now OPEN during all lunch periods. Please stop on by to see what the store has to
offer!
Any student leaving lunch trays or garbage will spend three days in ISAP. Clean up after yourself in
the lunchroom or you'll receive this consequence.
Students must follow the cashless procedures for lunch. Students must use the lock boxes to apply
money to their accounts. We will not be accepting money at the register any longer for breakfast or
lunch.
SPORTS:
There will be no Boys & Girls Basketball Intramurals until further notice.
CLUBS&ACTIVITES:
The Scholastic Scrimmage team will NOT meet this Monday, Sept 29. The Next practice will be
on TUESDAY Sept 30th. See Mr. DePhillips in room 109 for a new schedule. Anyone who would
like to join our competitive trivia team can see Mr. DePhillips in room 109
Attention Seniors:
Yearbook photos are due by October 31st.
If you are submitting a professionally photographed picture, remember to adhere to the photo
guidelines. Guidelines are posted on the Pocono Mtn. West High School website, and are also
available outside of room 231. If you do not submit any other photo, your school ID photo will be used.
Submit photos to Mrs. Merino in room 231.
Attention Senior Girls! Are you the next Homecoming Queen? In order to run for 2014 Homecoming
Queen you must apply first! Applications are found outside of rooms 143 and 206 or online
at www.pmwestsc.com. The deadline to apply for Homecoming Queen has been extended until today,
Friday, September 26. There will be no informational meeting. If you have questions, please see Ms.
Paul or Mr. McGovern.

The deadline to order Class Polo shirts has been extended until today, Friday, September 26.
Get the "Inside Scoop" on all of the fun ways to hang out with friends and support your fellow panthers
by picking up "The Inside Scoop" from one of the brightly colored mailboxes hanging around the
school.
Reading Olympics will meet October 1, 2014 in room 134.
GUIDANCE INFORMATION:
The PSAT will be at the WHS on Saturday, October 18th at 7:45 a.m. Students can register in the
guidance office. The cost of the exam is $18.00 and the registration deadline is October 15th. You
will receive a student guide when you pay the $18 fee. Enrollment for the PSAT will be limited to the
first 150 students who have registered and paid for the exam.
Free PSAT Crams online: Kaplan Test Prep is providing free cram sessions for the PSAT. Students
who attend will learn their 10 Top Score-Raising Strategies and review tips for time management

SAT preparation course
Wilkes University is offering an SAT preparation course.September 27, 28 and October 4 and 5.
Cost is $235.00 payable to Wilkes University. Call 570-408-5615 to register
COLLEGE NIGHTS & OPEN HOUSES
On Wednesday, October 15th, Marywood University will be sponsoring the Lackawanna County
College Fair at 7:00 p.m. - stop by guidance for information.
Juniors and Seniors please come to the guidance office and see the list of colleges that are coming to
visit in September, October and November. Come down and sign up for a visit today!
