7-12 Principal Report September Board Meeting We are off to a very good start thanks to the dedicated preparation by the teaching staff, the positive attitudes of the support staffs and the focus of our students. AIW Training: Our Lead Team has done an excellent job of establishing the tone for the year. Our Support Staff teams are an excellent and valuable part of the educational process. We are lucky to have these folks here to work with our students. The spirit of team and working together is seen on a daily basis. I’m exceptionally proud of this belief and practice from day one this year. Our Fall Athletic Teams are off to very nice starts. Band, Vocal and FFA have been busy to start the year. Cheer and Dance Teams are doing a nice job leading our fans and having fun. Leadership Students are busy planning for Homecoming with the Cheer Squad. Homecoming Candidates were voted on last week. Homecoming is just around the corner and lots of planning has already gone into place. We were honored to have Senator Grassley address the staff and students on August 26th. We had our annual blood drive in the East gym and we had a nice showing. P.A.W.S. started last week on Tuesday. I have my first regional principal meeting this Thursday with N.W. Iowa local principals. For part of my Administrative Professional Development I will be taking part in “Fierce Conversations”, a class offered by our local AEA. I will also be making four presentations on “A Career in Teaching” at NCC’s annual Career Day in early October. This summer I attended the “Lighting The Way Clinic” on Autism in Sioux Falls at Augustana College. Picture day coming up. Career Day for Juniors is on Oct. 12th. We continue to get new students weekly! I am very pleased at the total team we have leading our South O’Brien School District 7-12. I am very proud of the foundation we have established for the future. I look forward to great things from our staff and students. Go Wolverines! Mr. Bruder
