For each letter, you will have several steps to complete for credit. Your product must include all elements listed in the grading rubric on back at least once for the novel. For each letter you must: 1. Find a word beginning with each letter from A to Z to support the story forthe novel. Example: A is for ___,B is for ___, etc. 2. On the same page for that letter you must also illustrate the word in some way. You may cut out pictures from magazines, use computer graphics, draw and color your illustrations, or a combination of the above. 3. Under each illustration/graphic you must explain how the word supports, is a major part of, or represents the story. It must be evident in your explanation the element which is being represented. +In addition to the above steps, you will use 5 new vocabulary words you have learned as a result of reading this novel. The vocabulary words must stand out in some way – highlighted, bold, different color text/font. +Finally, the last page is a writing similar to the back cover of a book. You will choose the 1 story element that you feel moves the plot along the best. In your response you must state your opinion, the story element, and provide at least 2 details from the story for support. Grammar will factor into the overall grade of the writing. Use the rubric as your guide. How you choose to put your product together is up to you. You may create this book using construction paper (NO NOTEBOOK PAPER) or you may create a PowerPoint or other technology based product such as Glogster, Photopeach, prezi, etc. saved to a flash drive. This is your decision. You must have a cover page which includes your first and last name as well as the title and author of the novel. For each the elements on the rubric, you will receive: 1 point for the letter and the word 2 points for a relevant illustration 2 points for an accurate explanation Your product must be complete by Monday, March 25. This will be a major part of your reading grade for 3rd quarter. THIS CANNOT BE MADE UP OR TURNED IN LATE AS THE QUARTER ENDS THURSDAY, MARCH 28, 2013. Your rubric (on back) must be signed before the grading of the product and after the product has been graded. If you lose your rubric and have to be given another one, you will lose 5 points from your final grades.
