and Application Procedures

Applications are invited in accordance with the Guidelines and Conditions
For Applicants: 2015 Round 1, available on the Research Innovation Portal.
Application documents need to be submitted to HNE Health Research Innovation and
Partnership Unit via HNELHD-RSDO@hnehealth.nsw.gov.au hard copies of documents
are not required.
Acknowledgement of receipt of application will be provided by email within 48
hours. If not received, please contact Dr Nicole Gerrand, Manager Research Support

APPLICATIONS ARE TO BE COMPLETED IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FLLOWING
INSTRUCTIONS
An application for the HNE Health Clinical Research Fellowship requires three stages.
The first stage requires a submission of an Expression of Interest for internal review
by the HNE Health CRF Selection Committee. The second stage requires the
submission of a full application and supporting documentation for consideration by
the review committee that will consist of internal and external reviewers. The third
step requires an interview and presentation of the proposed research to the HNE
Health CRF Selection Committee. All relevant forms below:

1. EXPRESSION OF INTEREST- CLOSES 5pm-24 August 2015
HNE Health Research Innovation and Partnership Unit will call for expressions of
interest from the 27th July 2015. The expression of interest form, along with the
applicants current Curriculum Vitae must be submitted as one pdf document,
converted directly from a word document. If applications are short-listed by the
HNE Health Clinical Research Fellowship 2015-2016
selection committee, applicants will be invited to submit a full application. EOI’s that
are not short-listed will be withdrawn from any further consideration, and the
outcome communicated to applicants as soon as possible. Correspondence
regarding the outcome of the EOI will not be entered into. The shortlisting and
selection decisions made by the selection committee will be final.
2. FULL APPLICATION - CLOSES 5pm- 12th October 2015
Only short listed candidates will be eligible to submit a full application. Short listed
applicants will be notified and invited to submit a detailed proposal that extends on
the information initially provided in the EOI. Full applications must be certified and
submitted by 5pm 12th October 2015.
The application form, along with the following;

Curriculum Vitae of applicant (maximum of 4 pages), with a separate list of
the applicant’s scientific papers published over the past five years.

Curriculum Vitae of Team Leader of the nominated Research Active Clinical
Unit where the applicant will be attached, (Maximum 4 pages).

Curriculum Vitae of the Nominated Supervisor. (Maximum 4 pages),
are to be submitted as one document in pdf format that has been converted directly
from a word document. Electronic signatures will be accepted.
The HNE Health, CRF Selection Committee (including internal and external
reviewers), will assess full applications. The selection committee reserves the right
to seek input from experts in the field for external review. External assessors may be
independently chosen by the selection committee and will be asked to assist the
committee on the basis of confidentiality, and as such their identity will not be
disclosed.
Short listed applicants will be invited to attend an interview that will be set on a date
to be determined by the selection committee. This date will be final, as the
committee will only convene for one day.
3. INTERVIEW
Applicants who are short-listed during stage two will be invited to attend an
interview. As part of the interview the applicants will be required to deliver a 20minute presentation that outlines the proposed study. Teleconferencing facilities
may be made available if necessary.
