You certainly do have a talent for presentations since you have a very pleasant attitude while talking
about your topic. But you could do so much better if you wanted, I guess, you have heard that before.
You are supposed to start these presentations so early so that you can work on certain weaknesses, e.g.
pronunciation or the presentation of the topic. Your pronunciation would have needed extra practice. I
sent out mp3 files to a couple of students for practice. You could have come to my office to practice. But
you can only do all these things if you take care of your project and do not leave everything to the last
minute. I am telling you this because university should push you to your limits and not leave you in your
“comfi -zone”. And I do not think that you have reached your limits yet.

Your presentation was very well done considering that you did not have any help with it. Apart from the
fact that it is required that you follow a certain procedure before you give a presentation, I strongly
believe that you should take advantage of all the help that we offer. I could have given you mp3 files to
work on your pronunciation, and the actual goal was to have a more open presentation which could be
used as a starting point for discussion in class. In general, it is important that you talk to your instructors.
Communication is an important part of learning in general. You can only move forward if you reflect
your own thoughts on somebody else’s. You can still come to the conclusion that your own thoughts suit
you more but at least now your thoughts are standing on stronger grounds because they had to be
defended. I am telling you this to encourage you to involve your teachers in what you are doing. And I
thought some German directness might be necessary.

I know many computer scientists and apparently they all have issues with deadlines. Unfortunately, if
you are not working for google that lets you have a certain freedom regarding the organisation of your
time, deadlines are deadlines. And presenting 20 minutes after you have to present in class, is not
aiming for making your deadline. Due to your last minute presentation, you were not able to prepare
the things you wanted to say about the songs and had to do it in English. It is unfortunate, because your
topic was so interesting and unique and you did a good job in putting everything together. You also took
good care of your audience. You pronunciation would have needed also a bit more practice.

Your presentation was well done. You put a lot of work and effort into it, and I hope that you could feel
an improvement for yourself from your last presentation to this one. Unfortunately, your pronunciation
becomes almost incomprehensible when you get nervous. Do not worry too much about it because
when you talk in class you usually pronounce your words way better than during your presentation. You
tried to involve your audience, but you have to give them time to think about your questions in order for
them to answer it.
