Reflection: In doing the strategy application project, I was able to put into perspective the many different reading activities that I can utilize in my classroom when focusing on a text. Before I began this project, I was not fully aware of the components that make up a full reading lesson. Before taking this class I was introduced to the idea of teaching reading and was able to grasp the concept of creating a reading lesson that fosters learning, but it became evident to me in doing this assignment that you cannot fully know what creating a reading lesson is like unless you have personal experience in doing so. I am grateful that I Name___________________________ RED 4350 Summer 2012 have gotten the opportunity to take this step toward being a better educator. I cannot wait until I am able to integrate these strategies that I have worked so hard on during my block 4 internship. I imagine that teaching these strategies will be even more beneficial than writing about ways to use them. Throughout this assignment, I was able to recognize the presence of particular Florida Educator Accomplished Practices (FEAPS). This project has taught me how to teach reading and for that I am so thankful.
