Scattered to numerous thunderstorms (some may be severe and produce damaging winds) before 8pm, then scattered showers and thunderstorms after 2am. Frequent deadly lightning. Chance of precipitation is 30% today and 60% on Saturday. Partly sunny, with a high near 89. Heat index values as high as 100. Sunday…scattered showers and thunderstorms before 2am. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts expected between 1 inch and 1 ¼ inch by Sunday. More typical storm patterns return for Monday and Tuesday afternoon Watches and Warnings As of today, Hillsborough County is currently under the following severe weather warning or watches: Warnings/Watches/Advisories: Flood Watch In effect for Hillsborough River Flood Warning The Flood Warning continues for: Hillsborough River At Morris Bridge * Until Friday morning * At 12:30 PM Friday the stage was 31.56 feet * Flood stage is 32.0 feet * The river is expected to fall below flood stage by after midnight. * Impact...at 32.0 feet...Flooding begins at a trailer park downstream from Morris Bridge and just upstream from the northern end of the Tampa Bypass canal. NO. Executive order signed by the Governor to declare State of Emergency. Notification received August 6, 2015 from Bryan Koon. 2 families were evacuated due to flooding at Northdale area. Red Cross, Code Enforcement, Social Services, and Sunshine Line assisted the families. (Primary) Bible Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, located at 8718 N 46th St., Tampa, FL 33617 American Red Cross shelter remains open at this time. The shelter is projected to remain with open status through the weekend. (Shelters will be open as long as they are needed. Other shelter arrangements will be evaluated and identified as needed.) North Lakeview Dr. Compromised pavement issue being investigated. 3. Armand Drive (Town N’ Country) due to pipe failure. Road Under Water: 1. Sun Lake Blvd (between County Road and Lutz Lake Fern) 2. City of Tampa reported 64 City Buildings, 30 businesses, 103 structures (50 significant, 1 uninhabitable) Sandbags: Hillsborough County Service Units are currently not offering sandbags. The City of Tampa is not currently not offering sandbags. Hillsborough County Actions/ Status Updates As needed: EOC Level – 3 Monitoring (Normal Operations) as of 1 PM today. Daily 9 AM conference calls with coordinating agencies for updates. The EOC will provide updates regarding the Executive Order signed by the Governor declaring a State of Emergency as information becomes available. Note: Please track and document any incremental costs you are incurring related to this event in detail so that if we do receive a declaration, we can move forward with the reimbursement process. ESF1 Sunshine Line transported total 12 to and from shelters to date, will keep drivers available through the weekend to assist if necessary ESF 6 Social Services is working with families to complete needs assessment. Noted that cars in Winterwind neighborhood are totaled. ARC performing client assessments, also delivered clean-up and comfort kits. Shelters to remain open thru the weekend. ESF 14 No further issues at this time. Will continue to monitor. ESF 11: Social Services Community Resource Centers remain open providing assistance. Homeless facilities are operating under normal conditions. Pam Garrison from Methodist Church in Plant City area handling. Need team to assess area. Will update ESF 18 reports of businesses/farmers have problems with water due to ditch maintenance issues. Florida Star Farms, 16426 Sweatloop Road and other farms in Plant City area of Knights Griffin/McGee/39 ESF 19 Damage Assessment process still in progress. 89 confirmed structures to include single family homes, multi-family homes. No mobile homes. Preliminary assessment $420,500. $50,000 reported for further resources necessary. Awaiting the reports for Roads damage assessment for Roads still being compiled. ISC Information Service Center- 08/06/2015 handled 305 calls during business hours, after 5pm, 17 calls/requests. The calls were taken for various agencies. City of Tampa - Still collecting damage reports 30 businesses damaged with 1 being major….103 structures affected, over 50 with significant damage and 1 uninhabitable Plant city - We experienced minimal road erosion (pot holes) which were addressed immediately monitoring the City’s water retention capabilities and storm water drainage Temple Terrace - distributed some sand bags and had a few downed trees, but no significant damage to report. Raintree subdivision retention ponds in this area reached capacity and could no longer drain to the river due to the height of the Hillsborough River. Problem areas/areas of concern Potential Future Impacts: Brushy Creek around Winterwind Road and Country Place in the Northdale area. Areas of greatest concern are the City of Tampa, Odessa and Temple Terrace. Damage Assessment Teams have been assessing County impacts and needs. See totals above. Ongoing process.
