Situation Update August 6, 2015 July/August Rain Flooding Event Weather: Current Weather Impacts Watches and Warnings Today and Tonight ...Thunderstorm Impact... Isolated thunderstorms are expected along the coast early this afternoon then scattered thunderstorms inland. Any thunderstorms that develop will be capable of producing strong gusty winds. Local heavy rains. Frequent deadly lightning strikes. As of 5:05 AM today, Hillsborough County is currently under the following severe weather warning or watches: Warnings/Watches/Advisories: Flood Watch In effect for Hillsborough River Flood Warning The Flood Warning continues for: Hillsborough River At Morris Bridge * Until Friday morning * At 9 AM Thursday the stage was 32.2 feet * Flood stage is 32.0 feet * The river is expected to fall below flood stage by after midnight tomorrow. * Impact...at 32.0 feet...Flooding begins at a trailer park downstream from Morris Bridge and just upstream from the northern end of the Tampa Bypass canal. County Status/Actions Current EOC Operational Status: Local State of Emergency Declared? (Time/date?) Current Evacuations: EOC Level – 3 Monitoring (Normal Operations) as of 5 PM today, August 6 , 2015. Reentry/Post Evacuations: Not applicable NO 3 families were evacuated due to flooding at Northdale area. Red Cross, Code Enforcement, Social Services, and Sunshine Line assisted the families. Shelter Openings : (Primary) Bible Based Fellowship Church of Temple Terrace, located at 8718 N 46th St., Tampa, FL 33617 American Red Cross shelter remains open at this time. The shelter is projected to remain with open status through the weekend. (Shelters will be open as long as they are needed. Other shelter arrangements will be evaluated and identified as needed.) # in Shelters Gen Pop: Ten individuals (3 families: family of 6, 2, and 2) Special Needs: None at this time # and Names of Hospital Closed: Government Offices Status No Hospitals are closed at this time. Search and Rescue Teams Status # 0 teams active: 16 TSAR, 16 ISAT available Damage Assessment Teams Status ESF 19 i s c o n t i n u i n g d a m a g e a s s e s s m e n t . Mass Care Status Social Services and ARC completed needs assessments of the families and will continue to be available as need arises. American Red Cross delivered clean-up and comfort kits to assist the families in flooded areas. Mobile Feeding: American Red Cross had Emergency Response Vehicles have been providing water and snacks. PODS open: Not open County: Open Municipalities: Open Schools: Open (off for summer vacation though) Roadway Status Bridges: (Gandy / Howard Franklin / Courtney Campbell / Sunshine Skyway) – ALL open at this time. Major roads: (I-75 / I-275 / I-4 / 301 / 41 / 60 / DALE MABRY) – Major roads are open. Road Closures: 1. Hutchinson Road closed from Wilcox Road to North Mobley. 2. North Lakeview Dr. Compromised pavement issue being investigated at this time. 3. Armand Drive (Town N’ Country) due to pipe failure. 4. Macintosh Road due to pipe failure. Road Under Water: 1. Summerfield Drive (Northwest County). 2. Sandbags: Hillsborough County Service Units are currently not offering sandbags. The City of Tampa is not making sandbags available at this time Hillsborough County Actions/ Status Updates As needed: EOC Level – 3 Monitoring (Normal Operations) as of 5 PM today, August 6 , 2015. Daily conference calls with coordinating agencies for updates. ESF1 Sunshine Line transported total 12 to and from shelters. ESF 6 Social Services is working with families to complete needs assessment. Noted that cars in Winterwind neighborhood are totaled. ARC performing client assessments, also delivered clean-up and comfort kits. Shelters to remain open thru the weekend. ESF 14 No further issues at this time. Will continue to monitor. ESF 11: Social Services Community Resource Centers remain open providing assistance. Homeless facilities are operating under normal conditions. No mobile homes. Preliminary assessment $420,500. Damage assessment for Roads still being compiled. ISC Information Service Center- received 2,776 calls between Friday, July 31 – Thursday, August 6th. 1,050 calls were handled. A non-event would bring in an average of 35 calls on a weekend. The calls were taken for Animal Services, Code Enforcement, Public Work , and the Information Service Center(Customer Service) Problem areas/areas of concern Potential Future Impacts: Brushy Creek around Winterwind Road and Country Place in the Northdale area. Areas of greatest concern are the City of Tampa, Odessa and Temple Terrace. Damage Assessment Teams have been assessing County impacts and needs. See totals above. Ongoing process.
