UPDATE ON PREVIOUS ACTIONS # Update 1 Welcome, Introductions 2 Humanitarian Action Plan (HAP) Process 3 Health Action - Mr. Obed Tabi chaired the meeting. - Brecht introduced the new WASH Cluster Coordinator, William Fellows. - Informed the meeting of OCHA’s of April 23 deadline for uploading the HAP project sheets. - Agencies were urged to finalize and submit their figures to allow sufficient time for consolidating them into one document. - Health Cluster to hold an infrastructure restoration working group meeting to develop a plan for the restoration of key health facilities. - Cases of diarrhoea reported on the islands of Tanna and in Votlo, southern Epi. Need to establish if the cases are a result of post Pam damage to WASH facilities Responsible Person/Agency Status / Deadline Obed / DGMWR Brecht / UNICEF Brecht Mommen / UNICEF Hilson / UNICEF - Brecht to follow up with CARE, World Vision and Red Cross - Brecht to upload the project sheets by 4pm for presentation to Government and HC - Hilson to represent the WASH cluster at the meeting (April 23, WHO, 1300Hrs) - Hilson to obtain 2013/2014 diarrhoea figures from MoH for comparison purposes. - Richard to share WASH Cluster Meeting Points/Actions - Finalized design of visual IEC messages on sanitation and hygiene promotion in Bislama into a pocket-size booklet. 4 5 6 7 - Met with agencies, discussed consistency in reporting using the 3W matrix. - Made a 3W presentation as of April 21 - To focus on spatial analysis/mapping of Who’s doing WASH interventions to eliminate and What Where prevent double-counting. - WASH targets and indicators to change to match with the HAP - A review/split up of SO3 needed to better reflect progress of interventions - Data on schools affected by the cyclone received but not providing as much detail. - Second Harmonized Assessment Report Education to provide an indication of how schools have been affected, from a WASH perspective - Made a presentation on WASH Early Recovery (ER) strategy with activities focused on restoring pre-cyclone situations. - ER guidelines seen as capturing the minimum scope of what is to be included in ER activities. - To avoid variation between the different Early Recovery agencies’ ER implementation scope, it is WASH essential to define the activities Guidelines considered outside the scope of ER guidelines and sharing that with the relevant Provincial authorities. - The preferred approach is to capture any requests that are seen outside of the scope of ER by the Provincial Officers to be considered to form part of future projects AOB - Planned meeting of major implementing agencies (28 April) to discuss common approach to procurement of items required for implementation of early recovery activities. Obed / DGMWR Other: - Agreed to scale down WASH cluster meetings to once a week. - Next meeting: Monday April 27, 9pm, NDMO designed booklet with all cluster members. 15,000 copies to be printed this week. - Richard to share the presentation to comment on their respective figure with all - Richard to prepare 3W maps and share all - Richard work with agencies on the Relief Distribution Tracker this week. - Each implementing agency to come along with first draft of major items required. - List to be consolidated prior to meeting with suppliers.
