Text book Each student is issued with Edexcel A2 French textbook and Edexcel A Level French Grammar. This comprehensive course has much scope for independent study and extension work. Students have their own CD Rom with extra listening practice and excellent accompanying worksheets with answers. Some sections of the grammar book are used as set homework, but further independent use is also recommended as answers are provided. At the end of each module of the textbook there is a summary of the vocabulary covered and there is a comprehensive grammar section with explanation in English in the back of the book. Further resources Students are encouraged to develop their own language learning at their own pace. They need to do extensive independent research for their chosen speaking exam topic. For the Camus text, the Visconti film of L’ Étranger is available on Youtube and other background research on Algeria is expected. Students subscribe to Authentik magazine and use the CD and www.authentik.com/downloads/ website. They are encouraged to read around topics using www.wikipedia.fr and to read the news headlines of a quality daily paper such as www.lemonde.fr or www.lefigaro.fr Impersonal verbs, Reported speech, Devoir, Idiomatic expressions with avoir, Conditional perfect tense, Passive, Position of adjectives, Indefinite pronouns. The Unit 3 and Unit 4 exams are taken in May/June.
