Usage of gerund and progressive tenses Forms of present subjunctive of regular and irregular verbs Tasks/Activities/Procedures: creation/design of verb charts guided practice activities with grammar book reading newspaper articles and deciphering the verb tense advertising campaign posters for products, services utilizing learned persuasive vocabulary and conditional tense Discover imperfect and preterite statements from selected reading materials Compare/contrast geographical regions of Latin America using maps from internet research; prepare a written and visual presentation. Analyze world populations charts and be able to talk about various countries cultural and sociological statistics (poblacion, lenguas, ciudades prinicipales, etc.) Identify symbolism in selected reading passages and short stories. Cooperative groups where students read a story together, cut the story in parts and exchange with another group and put in chronological order. Fill in the blank activity sheets on grammar usage of pronouns, subject/verb agreements, learned vocabulary Internet research project on Latin American countries; students will research various cultural aspects of a Latin country and present a written paper and/or oral account with visuals.
