2013-2014 CHAPTER MANAGEMENT PLAN
The Chapter Management Plan is meant to help your chapter plan for the upcoming year in
regard to chapter expectations programming requirements, attendance requirements, paperwork
requirements, chapter operations, and advising. Please take the time to work with your executive
board to plan and strategize for the year and determine areas for growth or improvement as
necessary. This plan can help guide conversations with your chapter, executive board, chapter
advisor(s), and/or council advisor to make the most of this upcoming year and maximize the
fraternity/sorority experience for each of your chapter members.
2013-2014 Chapter Expectations Programming Planning and Goal Setting:
Please describe your goals for completing the chapter expectations programming requirements
for the upcoming academic year, including responses to the following questions (responses may
be written in bullet or paragraph form, just be sure to answer the questions completely and
include enough details for an outside reader to understand):
1. Which programming areas would you like to see your chapter improve in? What does
improvement in those areas look like?
2. How will you include chapter expectations programs into your chapter’s calendar to
spread the programming throughout the course of the year?
3. Who will be involved in the planning and implementation of chapter expectations
programming?
4. What are topics or area of interest that your chapter might enjoy or benefit from having
programs about?
5. What departments or campus resources could your chapter benefit from having a stronger
relationship with that you could involve in your chapter expectations programming?
6. What inter/national headquarters programs or requirements could your chapter also use
for chapter expectations programming requirements?
7. How can you create buy-in from your chapter members for chapter programming? What
are some of the barriers to achieving buy-in from members?
8. Please brainstorm and list your chapter’s ideas for each of the chapter expectations
programming areas below. You should have at least one idea for each category but can
list multiple ideas or topics that may be beneficial for your chapter that you could
consider implementing.

9. In the table on the next page, map out a tentative calendar of the year including at least
one idea for each category that you brainstormed above and when it would be beneficial
to implement the program. Think about what time of year makes the most sense for your
chapter to get the most out of the program in addition to established events on campus
that you could attend or collaborate with. For example, you could plan your values
clarification program for the beginning of the year or before recruitment/intake, have an
alumni program around the Homecoming game, or plan your academic program before
final exams.

some attendance requirements require attendance at multiple events (ex. Presidents’ retreats in the fall
and spring semesters).
Please utilize the table below to plan for who will attend each of the required events:
Event:
Annual Meeting with Council Advisor (before October 1)
Presidents’ Retreats (fall & spring)
New Member Convocation (fall & spring)
Violence Intervention Assistance (VIA) Training
Anti-Hazing Program (for new member educators/intake
coordinators)
