Digital camera Cal/QA Committee Establish ad hoc committee Greg, Dean & Bob write up abstract about committee goals – Dean to chair ad hoc committee at PDAD meeting, bring write up & present about goals Q: Charlie Mondello Where are they going to cover ramifications of sensors not having certifications? A: Greg USGS will not support Operational Sensor Type Certification program or data Provider Certification program Will continue to support research but not in an operational mode o Community interested is in reference standards. USGS will not provide so this is a role for ASPRS. Q; Brian Huberty Do we need a RS industry development & support funding plan? A: Yes. Q: Greg Stensaas Common across government agencies A: Brody Doesn’t want to say “government” should be ASPRS plan A: Q: Brian Shouldn’t it be just USGS to certify cameras Not just airborne; also, LDCM, Sentinel Brian Where’s the plan that says what type and how many systems are needed? A: Charlie A: A: Greg Q: Couldn’t be at PACA; not the right people at NGAC (???) Needs to be industry perspective Through state NGO they are sending a letter up to OSTP to say these issues are not being addressed & what are they going to do about it ? Should at least suggest calibration sites around the country for LIDAR & optical array Could support it under the ad hoc committee that Greg can chair Is situ camera calibration processes also fits in –support w/documentation Dean What would Doc entail? A: Greg Recommendations & guidelines for calibration processes Greg: Interoperability & Geotiff Standards at ASPRS div meeting have 10 minutes overview of GWG ½ groups developing for NGA (discuss @ next meeting) Terry: Will discuss with Len & come up with something Greg: RSD/Brad Doorn Satellite RS neg from user perspective ASPRS also interested Should we look at satellite data acquisition requirements?
