Darkened Room – a Siobhan Davies Dance Summer Youth Commission 2015 with the Photographers Gallery Thank you for your interest in Darkened Room, Summer Youth Commission. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the creation of a newly commissioned work with choreographer Frederick Opoku-Addaie. Darkened Room is a partnership project with the Photographers Gallery bringing together choreography with the gallery’s permanent camera obscura, exploring how a dance work can be viewed in different ways both live on-site and through the lens. The camera obscura produces an inverted image of the outside projects onto a darkened space within the gallery. You will be working towards a new work which will performed on Saturday 1st August that can be seen both on the street outside the gallery or on a screen in the darkened space of the camera obscura. The performance is free so please invite friends and family.
