October Puzzle Piece Mystery Book Project Mystery novels are written puzzles for a reader. To complete this project you will need to read a mystery book and create a puzzle using oak tag. The pieces of the puzzle should be as followed: Piece #1- Shows a creative display of the title and author of the book as well as your name Piece #2- Describes the main character and other secondary characters in the book Piece #3- Describes the setting of the book Piece #4- Identifies the mystery in the book Piece #5- Describes the main events in the story Piece #6- Describes the climax, or the most intense part of the story Piece #7- Gives three clues that help to solve the mystery in the book Piece #8- Gives a hint about the solution of the problem but does not give away the ending Piece #9- States your personal rating and recommendation of the book How to Create the Puzzle: 1. On one side of the oak tag draw a picture of a major scene or event in the book (Be sure it covers the entire oak tag). 2. On the opposite side, divide the oak tag into 9 sections (They can be made to look like puzzle pieces or be different sizes). 3. Number each of the 9 sections. 4. Type up the responses for each puzzle piece and glue them to their assigned section of the puzzle. 5. Cut the oak tag into 9 puzzle pieces. 6. Put the pieces into a manila envelope. 7. Label the envelope “Solving the Puzzle of __________” and write your name. Please select a book and have it approved by your teacher by: Wednesday, Oct. 7 Please hand in your completed
