Job ID: 146763 Research Internship Siemens Molecular Imaging | Oxford | 6-12 Months Siemens Molecular Imaging is a pioneer in the development of new medical scanners, imaging techniques and applications supporting the clinical workflow. The software written in Oxford processes the images acquired with PET-CT, PET-MR, and SPECT-CT scanners supporting the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, neurological and cardiovascular disease. Future development of this technology is fundamental to the delivery of improved, evidence-based, personalized, and cost-effective healthcare. What are my responsibilities? SMI is offering an internship for 6-12 months, to work on a research topic specific for clinical software applications. The internship will be completed in the Science and Technology department and supervised by one of the Scientists in the group. The projects will involve the implementation and refinement (prototyping) of medical image processing methods, the evaluation and comparison of these methods using potentially both simulated (to be generated) and real clinical data, and finally, selection of the most appropriate method, depending on results. A technical report should complete the description of the work done during the internship. What do I need to qualify for this job? You will have graduated or be working towards a degree or MSc in a technical or science related discipline with some background in Mathematics and Physics. Detailed working knowledge using Matlab or C++ Amenable, friendly, good team player with an ability to work independently.
