New For 2012! CALL FOR PARTICIPATION AND SUBMISSION GUIDELINES NEONATAL ADVANCED PRACTICE NURSING FORUM 15th ANNUAL APN Centers of Excellence: Bring Your Data! CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS Our APN forum anniversary theme is, Show Me the Evidence: Celebrating 15 Years of Excellence in Neonatal APN Practice. We are calling for APN practices in the United States and beyond to help us demonstrate how you and your team have made a clear difference. To answer this call please send us a short abstract describing your practice setting, clinical challenge and solution, and data to support improvements in practice. We are particularly interested in your data to support improvement in NICU care, including, but not limited to the following clinical challenges: Reduction of hospital-acquired infections Reduction in line complications Decreases in length of stay Improvements in family satisfaction, integration or collaboration Improvements in access to care and service delivery Decreases in cost of care while preserving or increasing quality care Improved patient care, teamwork, or patient safety using simulation Improved patient outcomes and/or processes for specific categories of patients (i.e. late preterm infants, surgical patients, infants with BPD etc.) PEER REVIEW PROCESS Submissions will be blinded and peer reviewed and ranked based upon their link to the conference theme and objectives and the quality and strength of the evidence to demonstrate APN outcomes. PODIUM PRESENTATIONS Select abstracts will be chosen for short podium presentations scheduled during the Pharmacology Preconference (May 30, 2012) and/or the Cutting Edge Leadership Workshop (May 31, 2012). Other relevant abstracts may be invited to present in the Research Briefs format, a short 3 to 4 minute innovation overview preceding main conference sessions. All podium presenters are also invited to share their work throughout the conference in the form of a poster. POSTER SESSION Abstracts not chosen for podium presentation will be considered for poster presentation. Instructions for the poster presentation will be provided to the primary author at the time of the notification of abstract acceptance. New For 2012! SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS Abstracts should be no more than 500 words, in 12-point font, with up to 2 additional bibliography pages.
