IAHAIO Abstract Submission Guidelines and Instructions Review Process All abstracts submitted must represent original, previously unpublished work. It is possible to submit abstracts for 3 different categories: original research; reviews/program ideas; workshop proposals. Once submitted, abstracts will be peer-reviewed, using criteria developed by the Abstract Review Committee. The Abstract Review Committee will use the following criteria to score each abstract. For Research Abstracts: 1. Topic: Is the topic significant, important, of relevance to the conference themes? 2. Background: Is the rationale for the topic logical, sound, and/or supported by the information presented? 3. Purpose: Is the purpose/objective clearly stated? 4 Methodology: Are the design methods (qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods) described and appropriate? 5. Statistics/Results: Have (if applicable) the appropriate statistical methods been used? Are the results presented clearly and with enough detail to address the research objectives? 6. Conclusion/Implications: Are the conclusions/implications supported by the reported results? 7. Innovation: Does the topic offer an innovative and new perspective and contribute to overall themes of the conference? 8. Overall clarity: Is the abstract well written, with ideas clearly conveyed For Non-research Abstracts (review/programs): 1. Topic: Is the topic significant, important, of relevance to the conference themes? 2. Background: Is the rationale for the topic logical, sound, and/or supported by the information presented? 3. Purpose: Is the purpose/objective clearly stated? 4. Methods/Practice: Are the theory, interventions, methods, project, or practices described appropriately? 5. Conclusions/Implications: Are the conclusions/implications sound, justified? 6. Innovation: Does the topic offer an innovative and new perspective to the overall themes of the conference? 7. Overall clarity: Is the abstract well written, with ideas clearly conveyed? 1 Based on the review, each abstract will be chosen for either a podium or poster presentation or declined. For Workshop Abstracts: We offer the possibility, for interested groups, to facilitate a workshop. We will provide the venue and technical equipment for worlshops. The deadline for submission of all abstracts is 30th November, 2015. ………………………………………….. The contact author will receive notification of the decision via email end of January, 2016 Authors of selected abstracts (either for podium or poster presentations) must register for the conference by March, 1, 2016 to be included in the program. Acceptance as a presenter does not register you for the conference, and registration fees are required. Travel and accommodation expenses are the responsibility of the participating author. At the conference, those who have been selected for a podium presentation will have 15 minutes within a session for their presentation, at the conclusion of each session there will be 5 minutes for questions and answers. All presentations should be done in PowerPoint. The lecture room will be equipped with laptop computers. PowerPoint presentations must be prepared on a windows PC. Please bring your file on a USB-flash-memory-drive. You cannot connect your laptop. Computer files have to be downloaded to a conference PC. Posters must have A1 size Portrait (24” x 36” or 594 mm x 843 mm). Designated times will be determined for poster display and high ranked posters will be chosen for presentation in a special poster pitch session. Poster presenters must be at their posters for questions and discussion during the sessions noted on the program. Poster presenters are encouraged to prepare handouts of their individual posters for distribution at their poster.
