QIDO (Supplement 166) J. Whitby, editor of the Supplement, presented <sup166_ft2_proposed.docx> which contained revisions made based on the letter ballot comments and subsequent WG-06 comments and advice. This file was also posted in the meeting folder. The letter ballot comments were extensive and a few the earlier FT draft contained a few changes that were felt to have been too far from the original LB text and would require re-balloting. Specifically: - Using W3C Date / Datetime format rather than DICOM Using Base64 encoding for a variety of number formats Using a FHIR-like structure for Person Name attributes These changes have been reverted. The current draft was redistributed to WG-27. One additional comment from R. Horn was accepted (line 660.) This text was now considered Final Text and will be so posted by J. Whitby. R. Leif suggested solutions for Name attributes. He was advised to draft and submit a CP for WG-27 review, which he agreed to do. _________________________________________________________________________ Minutes - DICOM WG-27, Nov. 5, 2013 Page 2 4. Web Poll on WG-27 Priorities B. Genereaux reviewed the results of the web poll for WG-27 priorities. The results have been posted in the meeting folder. DICOM RS Supplement This was the highest priority item by the 16 respondents. See in meeting folder: Reference- WG-27_Work_Item_Re-Document PS 3 18 Web Services for DICOM v3.doc. J. Philbin highlighted the draft Work Item: no semantics changes proposed, merely aligning terminology, formats when differing in the last three RS Supplements. R. Leif urged object based architecture (see description in the file posted in the meeting folder-“Other Comments”.). The next three projects in order of priority were: WADO-RS rendering UPS-RS [WI-2013-08-B] STOW-RS Phase II The web poll comments included: • An implementation guide or whitepaper on how DICOMWeb and FHIR work together. • Support other additional functions the current WADO-URL support. For example, anonymization, retrieve specific ROI by specifying rows and columns, retrieve textual objects (e.g. SR) as HTML or PDF, retrieve rendered object with markup burned in, etc. • Video format for the web. For example, download a US cine or XA multiframe. • WADO-RS to support retrieve key images only on a given study • Support routing / proxy or DICOMweb request in a web / http friendly way. XDS supports WS-Addressing. • WG-27 needs to organize its work projects based upon objects. • In JIRA, there is not the idea for the moment. • NADO-RS (notification of changes to DICOM objects over RESTful services) • DICOM-RS Supplement: Unify WADO-RS, STOW-RS and QIDO-RS as well as recent and pending CPs as a single RESTful Services for DICOM that is simpler, clearer, and more coherent. _________________________________________________________________________ Minutes - DICOM WG-27, Nov. 5, 2013 Page 3 • MHD-I Manifest for study and series (similar to MINT metadata) ServerInfo resource to identify capabilities of the target system (e.g. is STOW available, is QIDO available, etc.) PNG as a first tier DICOM image encoding format • Might want to list FHIR Alignment for planning terms since WG-20 will likely pull WG27 in at some point. • Streaming of 3D images • Simple RESTful DMWL service NADO (notifications) 5. IHE Radiology MHD-I B. Genereaux updated the group: IHE Radiology TC accepted the proposal. The scope was extended; IHE TC did not want to be restrictive on the use cases. In-person IHE meeting next week to review revised scope proposal; Brad is drafting that proposal. 6. Work Items J Philbin presented the following Work Item Proposals. K. O’Donnell suggested to review WG06 estimates; not to underestimate time requirements. Re-Documentation of Part 18 This was the highest priority item by the 16 respondents. See in mtg folder: WGReference: 27_Work_Item_Re-Document PS 3.18 Web Services for DICOM v3.doc. J. Philbin highlighted the draft Work Item: The revised Part 18 would have no semantics changes. It would be reorganized for clarity, simplicity, and brevity. Terminology would be unified and use the terminology in the Revised HTTP/1.1 standard. Formatting would be made to conform to the DICOM standard format. WG-27 members may submit additional comments to J. Philbin by Nov. 14. He will post in the DSC Dec. 5 meeting folder on Nov. 20. PNG The Work Item Proposal was posted as: Reference: WG-27_Work_Item_PNG_TransferSyntax.20131105.docx> This was previously discussed in WG-27. WG-27 members may submit additional comments to J. Philbin by Nov. 14. He will post in the DSC Dec. 5 meeting folder on Nov. 20. WG-27 members may submit additional comments to J. Philbin by Nov. 14. He will post in the DSC Dec. 5 meeting folder on Nov. 20. Manifest & Bulkdata Information Object Definitions The Work Item Proposal was posted as: Reference: WG-27_Work_Item_Manifest_IOD v4.docx A lengthy technical discussion followed. It was concluded that the intent is positive; revisions are needed. The draft will be revised and redistributed to WG-27. 7. Pending CPs a. STOW Corrections CP draft posted in the meeting folder: Reference: CP_xxxx_WG_27_WADO_STOW_Corrections.docx J. Whitby will revise in response to D. McCabe’s comments. b. Search for Patients CP draft posted in the meeting folder: At the last meeting, the discussion continued about the appropriateness of this search in DICOM. It was again concluded that in spite of minimal utility there is sufficient interest to include this functionality, but it was recognized that for real search more robust means should be used. Reference: CP_xxxx_WG_27_QIDO_SearchForPatient.docx c. Metadata (reviewed at previous meeting) d. Key Object Selection (reviewed at previous meeting) 8. UPS-RS [WI-2013-08-B] The Group discussed starting the development of the Supplement. An Ad-Hoc Group on UPSRS was formed. All persons on the WG-27 roster are invited to join and participate. Current expected participants: Jim Philbin, Brad Genereaux, Kevin O’Donnell, Jonathan Whitby, Lawrence Tarbox 9. New Business There was a discussion about creating a standard version of the DICOM IODs and related definitions (modules, macros, data elements…) in XML that would be kept up to date by WG06, and would be available for download from the DICOM web site. Discussed that an Ad-Hoc _________________________________________________________________________ Minutes - DICOM WG-27, Nov. 5, 2013 Page 5 Group of WG-06 was formed many years ago for this project. The Philips patent covering the process of importing DICOM into toolkits was also mentioned. It was believed that the DICOM Patent Agreement covers this patent: non-discriminatory licensing on reasonable terms. 10. Next Meetings See Item 2 above. In addition to the above scheduled meetings, the new Ad-Hoc group on UPS-RS is planning to meet, on Nov. 25-26, 2013, in Toronto, Canada. Brad Genereaux will be asked to investigate hosting the meeting in AGFA’s offices. 11. Adjournment The t-con was adjourned at 13:10.
