A learning facilitator, technology visionary professional and a safety practitioner since two and half
decades, with an imbibed feeling of being A Learner Always, is looking forward to serve with a
growth oriented organisation in the field of engineering training, administration and safety as a
consultant.
Have served the Indian Navy for 20 years and entered into corporate sector in the year
2007.Working for the very first company, was responsible for setting up a Crane Training
Academy with (one of the world’s largest crane rental company in India having 400 machines,
operating Pan India), followed by handling crane operations Pan India as Vice President
Operations, Safety and Training, Presently working with Maersk Training as International Training
consultant on Mobile crane operational safety and rigging.
An apt manager who strongly believes in continues development with four tier support of
processes, practices, tools and methodology, which is demonstrated by my actions. I offer a
commitment to develop sustainable and profitable business to my customers by never letting
them down.
I can work fluently across a multitude of cultures. Strong communication, interpersonal and team
leading skills are few of my qualities which help me to interact and develop relationships with
various external and internal stakeholders.
Dedicated to crane operational safety, I am half way through writing a book on mobile crane
operational safety dedicated to all operators, riggers and safety officers of India.

DUTIES AS ENGINEER AND TRAINING OFFICER (1990 – 2004)
AS ENGINEER OFFICER 
Ensure operational readiness and availability of men & machines at all times.

Manage activities for direct and indirect reports including, performance, communication,
feedback, conflict resolutions.

Ensure high standard of discipline among the staff in the department and devising methods to
boost morale and motivation of staff and counseling of personnel.

Identifying Planned Preventive Maintenance routines for various systems to minimize the
'downtime', preparation of equipment returns, trial reports & follow up of jobs off loaded to
various repairing agencies for timely completion.
AS TRAINING OFFICER –
 Was responsible for training of engineering department comprising of 30 to 40 engineers and
mechanics on board three ships from 1996 to 2004.
 To attend technical seminars as a speaker at the command HQ level.
 Responsible for converting accidents, incidents into training packages.
 To receive monthly technical bulletins from command technical office and convert them into
training packages and train the crew.
DUTIES AS OFFICER IN CHARGE
TRAINING DESINGING AND EVALUTION CELL (2004 – 2008)
 (A premier engineering training establishment of Indian Navy for training all engineers,
apprentices and mechanics, with an annual through put of approx 800 trainees).
 Preparation of master syllabus in consultation with all departments (Air Conditioning wing,
Diesel engine wing, Steam machinery wing, Gas turbine wing, Auxiliary machinery wing etc).
 Preparing of lesson plans post consultation with all above departments.
 Preparation of question banks.
 Designing of course critiques Performa’s from trainees on training conducted.
 Designing of feedback Performa’s on trainees to be filled by end users.
 Amendments in lesson plans as per course critiques (if found genuine).
 Timely review of the syllabus and amendments if found genuine.
DUTIES AS V.PRINCIPAL CRANE TRAINING ACADEMY(2008 – 2012)
Following assignments were undertaken by me in capacity of Vice Principal.
 Infrastructure: - Basic infrastructure of the Academy was setup, which includes, an airconditioned class room, a knowledge hub, approx 10,000 Sqft area for practical’s and a 20 to
40 ton tyre mounted crane.
 Study Material and Assessments:Master syllabus, lesson plans, power point
presentations, question banks, feedback Performa’s on trainees from regional managers,
Course critiques from students and amendments in master syllabus/lesson plans as per
observations from course critiques(if found genuine) were all prepared.
 Master Syllabus: Was responsible for designing Master Syllabus which comprises of
various modules separately for new operators (fresher), operator’s upto 150 tons, senior
operators above 250 tons, site supervisors, Regional Managers, safety officers and syllabus
for induction training for new employees.
 Course Duration For Academy Operators: - The course duration is of three months, two
months theory and practical followed by one month on job training at any of the company
sites.
 Annual Training Program: The annual training program is prepared for complete year,
for all modules mentioned above.
 On Site Safety Audit of Operators/Cranes:- The onsite safety audit for manpower and
machines w.r.t operational safety is also conducted on quarterly basis and a feed back is sent
to the operations/maintenance departments respectively regarding shortfalls.
 Training Conducted for Other Companies:- Have trained over 6000 plus personnel of
present company since Dec 2007 and 200 plus engineers of ONGC (Oil and Natural gass
Corporation), Jindal steel and Power, Suzlon Windmills Infrastructure Pvt Ltd, Ambuja
cement on crane operations and safety, six subcontractors of Chevron (Bangladesh).
 Knowledge Hub:Had set up a knowledge hub which contains various boards
providing total information on cranes and other machines w.r.t safe operations, setup for
safety, pre-operational inspections, rigging, lessons learnt from accidents etc, which will help
engineers, operators, helpers and riggers to understand the importance of safe operations.
DUTIES AS CRANE ACCIDENT SURVEYOR (2008 – 2012)
 Reach to the site of accident at the earliest and conduct accident investigations by taking
actual photos of the scene, talk to the operator and other staff present on the site and meet
client for his comments.
 To dissect the total accident after creating a real time scene of accident as it was at the time
of accident and then understand the pro’s n con’s of the situation which led to the accident.
 Asses the possible damages in terms of monitory loss to the company including loss of hiring
days.
 Asses that how much minimum time will be required for repairing the crane and putting it back
to the work.
 Conduct a joint meeting with the client, prepare points for the meeting and forward it to the
management.
 Post returning back brief the management on the reasons which led to the accident.
 To convert the total investigation along with original accident photographs into a training
package for trainees under case study topics.
 To implement the systems to avoid similar accidents in future.
DUTIES AS INTERNATIONAL TRAINER – MOBILE CRANES

Train professionals associated with crane on the topic Mobile Cranes/Offshore crane safety
including rigging and slinging.

The course is beneficial for operators, safety staff, operations staff, marketing staff, riggers,
erection planners.

Class room subjects through power point presentations of world class standards, considering
OSHA, ASME and DIN standards.

Covering following subjects :
 Principles of operations
 Pre operational inspections
 Crane setup for safety
 Understanding and correct interpretation of load charts.
 Conditions that reduce capacity of a crane.
 Correct selection /application and inspections of rigging hardware.
 Critical lifts & tandem lifts.
 Understanding and correct procedures for hand signals.
 Minor/Major accident investigations converted into training packages comprising of original
photographs, for better learning.
 Films and short videos on safe crane operations and crane safety.
 Group discussions on operational and safety issues, by splitting the class into three teams
(Client, safety and operations).

SUMMARY
The Indian navy and corporate sector has provided me with a rich and varied experience
and has kept my professional knowledge and judgment continuously honed and updated, working
in multifarious situations. Ability to mesh closely in a team and work together towards a set
objective has been my forte.
