Procedure and Expectations
Start of Class
1) Before the Bell Rings
Just as employees we are expected to begin work on time, and prepared to work. I expect
you to have your materials ready, including a pen or pencil, notebook, textbook and
handouts. All handouts that are required for class will be located in the file folder located on
the table at the entrance of the class.
2) Beginning Class
Take your assigned seat immediately when you have the handouts and before the
bell rings. There will always be a “warm-up” assignment for you to do on the board.
Start right away. You will have about 5 minutes to complete it. After five minutes, I
expect you to have your “warm-up” complete and be ready when I call for
everyone’s attention.
Classroom Procedures
1) Getting Attention
If I need your attention, you will hear me say, “May I have your attention” and raise
my hand. I expect you to be quiet and looking at me.
2) Voice Levels
While working individually, small or big groups, like in the work place there are
different acceptable voice levels. Each activity we as a class do, will have a voice
level assigned. The Voice Levels are:
1. 0=Not speaking
2=Low Level
4=Hallway
2. 1=Whispering
3=Conversational
5=Event
3) Classroom Discussion
Please Participate, I really do want to hear what you have to say. I expect all
questions and comments to be relevant to current discussion, and be respectful to
your classmates while they are asking their question. If you have a question that is
off topic, write it down and ask it later or give it to me after class, and we will
discuss your question at a later time.
4) Types of Groups
We will often work in groups to prepare you for teamwork in the workplace.
Sometimes you will work with a partner or with a group of 4 to 5 and sometimes a
project group. Most of the time, like the real-world work place, I will assign you to
groups, but I will also give you opportunities to choose your group members. I
expect professional behavior while in groups, negative or disrespectful comments
will not be tolerated.
There will be independent and collaborative (group) work in this class. I expect you
to stay focused, and use professional voice while working together in groups.
5) Class Dismissal
The teacher dismisses you not the bell. I will officially dismiss you with; “Thank You,
See You Tomorrow. I expect you to be respectful of your classmates and me by
waiting for the teacher’s official dismissal before packing up.

Classroom Assignment Procedures
1) Submitting Assignments
Once students complete their assignments, they may get out of their desk to turn in
their work into the “Homework Box” file box that is clearly labeled with a sign and
contains labeled folders for each class period. You should go directly to the turn-in
tray and directly back to their desk without talking to or disturbing any classmates.
When you are finished with an assignment and have submitted them, you may sit
quietly at your desk and review your reflection journal, unfinished assignments,
read, study. I expect you to be respectful to others while they are completing their
assignments.
2) Incomplete Assignments
The student will be required to submit a “Pink-Slip”, if you are unable to complete or
if you are unable to turn in your assignment. I expect all work to be finished in a
timely manner.
BYOD Electronics Procedures
1) Electronic Devices
Like in the work place, there is a time and place to use electronic devices like IPods, tablets,
and cell phones, laptops. The use of social media, like texting, twitter, Facebook, is
inappropriate in the work place as well as the classroom, and will not be tolerated. I expect

the class, and I will let you know when it is appropriate to use electronic devices.
The KISD policy supersedes all classrooms BYOD/Electronic Device
