Below is a list of possible projects to choose from. On the back of this page is the list of possible topics. You want to match the topic with a good project to showcase your talents. Choose only one project and complete the project requirements by the due date listed above. Have fun!

Creative Writing: a.

Pretend you are a newspaper reporter. Write a news article telling who, what, when, where, and why of the discovery of Tut’s Tomb, or another topic (see other side for options) b.

Write a letter to a friend about your trip to Egypt. Choose a specific topic to research. Include facts you learned and include a lot of details. c.

Create newspaper writing about at least three topics of Egypt. You can be very creative and add fun pages showing hieroglyphics, advertisements, or other items. d.

Write a historical fiction short story about the daily life of a person from Egypt. e.

Create a picture book describing a topic of Ancient Egypt. Include pictures and graphics to explain the information. All writing must be your own work.

Art a.

Make a mummy using paper mache around an old, discarded doll. Follow Egyptian tradition and paint your mummy. Create a poster or picture book showing the real steps of mummification. b.

Pyramid – create a cardboard, plywood, or Styrofoam pyramid. Include details and labels to show the description and parts of a pyramid. c.

Daily life model – diorama or other art form. Try to make the building, clothing, and vegetation as authentic looking as possible. d.

Sphinx – Use a bar of soap or modeling clay. Mount on a wood or cardboard pedestal. Include details to describe the sphinx. e.

Model of Rosetta stone – draw or create a model. Include details to show where it was found and why it is important. f.

Papyrus – Create your own papyrus. Include a piece of artwork showing ancient Egyptian life on it. g.

Clothing – dress a male and female doll in the clothing styles of the Egyptians. Be sure to include an

Egyptian collar and/or jewelry. Create a chart that describes the different clothing of various social classes.

Computerized information – Create a presentation using computer technology to showcase your information.
