It would be a great night out to have a couple of tables that are from the Friends, we will discuss this at our next meeting on 8th April. There is currently a campaign by the NSW Public Libraries Associations, to raise awareness of the funding model used by the government in NSW to provide library services. 93% of the costs of running library services are borne by the local government sector, only 7% of the funding comes from the NSW government. There is a petition at the front desk of the Wagga Library, please fill it in as soon as possible, we need 10,000 signatures to have a petition qualify to be presented to parliament. There is a review of library services undertaken by the Library Council of NSW, which is being considered as part of the NSW budget for 2014-15, so the timing is important. We will welcome back early this month, the Library Manager, Claire Campbell, from her extended holiday with husband Ian, in Europe and visiting family in Japan. Acting Manager, Chrissie Bolton, is counting down the hours until she can hand back the reins to Claire. It has been rather hectic all month. Next monthly meeting for the Friends is on Tuesday 8th April, in the level one Community Learning Space at 5.30pm.
