Last day of term
This week we held our Harvest Festival. The Lay
reader from St Edmunds Church Jane Dryden,
joined us to share a story and give a blessing. We
had good weather and were joined by many
parents and grandparents. The children all took
part in the Harvest and we had a lovely display of
produce and groceries for our Harvest collection.
We raised £56.20 from the sale of the produce at
the end of the day and we have taken all the
donations which were left to Taverham Day Care
centre.
Thank you so much for joining us and for your very
kind donations.

Reception Parents Workshop Evening
Reception parents were invited to an evening finding out about expectations in Reception class, including
learning about early reading, maths and phonics.
What you thought was good:
 Presentations of how maths and literacy are taught and how we can help our children at home –
follow the same methods/techniques.
 Getting ideas about how I can assist with learning.
 Ideas about fun games to play for learning.
 Finding out about what goes on in Reception and how I can help at home.
Other things you would like to have seen:
 Advice on how to get the most out of books with no words.
 A tour of the classroom as it is difficult to visualise.
 Resources or links to useful websites.
Action points:
 To make parents aware of expectations for the end of Reception – continue to work on this
through VLE and through information shared at parents evening.
 To generate as list of useful websites or add as links in the VLE.
 There will be further opportunities to come into the classrooms to take part in children’s learning
future informative events later in the year.
We would like to thank all the parents for their feedback.
Topic Homework
A big well done to everyone who has been busy completing topic
homework - I have seen some fantastic work! Thank you to everyone
who has completed their topic work on the VLE. If you create work or
upload it to the VLE please could you use the ‘publish to’ tab to
publish it to your year one or year two class page? That way all your
friends and teachers can see and enjoy it!
Please see your class teacher if you have any queries about this.
