POSITION DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Job Coach
Program: Integrated Program Models
General Purpose:
Under the supervision of the Teacher, to provide one-on-one supervision, instruction and
guidance to students in vocational/career settings.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Provides vocationally focused training to one to five students each year.
2. Assists in developing work placements for students by visiting and reviewing all
aspects of work sites where students are to be placed. Recommends modification of
work sites for students as needed.
3. Assists in the task analysis of jobs and compiles and maintains data.
4. Supervises students’ work and social behavior. Assists students to solve job
problems. Maintains open and positive communications with work site supervisors and
employees to encourage constructive feedback on students’ job performance and
behavior. Serves as liaison between school program and work site.
5. Transports students to and from work sites.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Requires high school education and experience in working with adolescents or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Requires Public Service license and
certifications in CPR and first aid. Must have knowledge of vocational opportunities and
work site policies and basic knowledge of crisis/behavior interventions, hygiene, toileting
and feeding.
Supervision
None.
Working Conditions
Assists in lifting of up to 110 pound non-mobile students.
