Mr. Lindell is the Director of Strategy & Business Development for the Lockheed Martin Military Space
Line of Business based in Denver, CO. He is responsible for securing, evolving and extending our
business within the OPIR, PNT, MILSATCOM, Weather, and Space Protection mission areas.
Mr. Lindell has more than 20 years experience and expertise in the aerospace and defense industry,
managing the development of complex software and hardware systems for remote sensing, intelligence,
surveillance and information processing applications for programs ranging from basic research to
production of flight systems.
Prior to his current assignment Mr. Lindell was the Surveillance Systems Portfolio Manager responsible
for a portfolio of programs and investments focused on the development of space protection and
situational awareness applications. He has successfully grown this mission area to a set of diverse
programs ranging from study to operational systems.
Earlier in his career Mr. Lindell was a program manager on several programs developing advanced image
and signal processing hardware and value-added processing algorithms. He was responsible for the
creation of the MedDetect Joint Venture with Rose Hospital to apply and commercialize automatic target
recognition technology for medical screening applications. In doing so, he secured venture capital funds
to gain FDA approval of a breast cancer screening application that was then sold to Eastman Kodak. His
leadership positions include managing classified, Air Force, Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency (DARPA), Army, Navy, and commercial contracts, and Lockheed Martin independent research
and development activities.
Mr. Lindell has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Physics from the Central University of Iowa, a Master of
Science Degree in Optics from the University of Dayton and a Master of Business Administration from the
University of Colorado, Denver.
