Description of Business Environment:
Develop, lead and execute the country specific integrated communications strategies for
the Middle East region. Build and sustain brand recognition of the Lockheed Martin
name and broad portfolio, across the region. Position Lockheed Martin as a broad
portfolio company and work with business areas to promote and enhance this image.
Work closely with all Lockheed Martin lines of business to support their in-country
requirements and deliver high class communications against their business plans.
Ensure consistency and coordination of regional communications activities and
coordination of internal and external messaging to include media, advertising, collateral
material and community outreach and trade shows. Work closely with the Chief
Executives to ensure strategic messaging for external speaking engagements and agree
employee communications rhythm to position leadership and objectives. Manage the
development, planning, and conduct of strategic public relations and community
relations programmes in the region.
Build a proactive media relations programme across the region to build relationships
with key commentators, journalists and media outlets, as appropriate. Integrate
electronic communications, including new media, into the overall strategy for reaching
external and internal stakeholders. Manage the advertising budget and regional
advertising in consort with the corporate advertising team to ensure best value for
money and consistent and appropriate messaging. Provide overall leadership for
effective employee communications with Lockheed Martin employees, ensuring respect
and sensitivity for cultural differences among our workforce. Ensure that objectives and
strategies are measurable to establish success and accurate benchmarking
Required Skills:
The candidate must be a motivated self-starter with broad experience and interest in the
global security business with:
 Proven leadership, credibility, interpersonal and team skills
 Ability to cultivate and maintain a close working relationship with LMI business
leaders, Corporate and Business Area Communications and International Business
Development








Strong knowledge of international affairs, awareness of current global issues and
ability to work well with people from multiple cultures
Ability to cultivate and maintain close working relationships with media, government
public affairs offices and in-country communication firms and businesses
Extensive experience in strategic communications, international and domestic media
relations, and integrated communications planning to include both internal and
external stakeholders
A proven track record of vision, creative thinking and effective decision-making
Ability to multi-task and work well under deadline pressure
Superior writing and communication skills
Broad experience interacting with and counselling senior executives.
Media Relations skills
Desired Skills:
 Advanced degree or training in a communications field and a minimum of 10 years
broad communications experience with proven leadership
Standard Job Description:
The Head of Communications for the Middle East directs, implements and executes
internal and external communications for Lockheed Martin in the Middle-East region.
The role will ensure the development, support and implementation of a strategic
communications strategy, aligned to the LM international business strategy.
The position will provide the regional chief executives with communications counsel
and will drive and lead communications activities for the region, partnering with all
appropriate business areas to execute aligned strategies.
This role, which reports into the Vice President of International Communications, will
ensure that all media relations, advertising, marketing communications, employee
communications and community relations are consistently aligned to business and
communications’ objectives.
