LM UK Mission Systems and Training (MST) working as part of LM Training and Logistics Systems (TLS) which is based in Orlando, USA, is responsible for the delivery of training systems across the land sea and air domains. LM TLS has approximately 3000 employees working across many sites in the USA, UK and Australia. LMUK MST has about 60 personnel based in Farnborough and Warminster with its main markets focused on Defence related training systems, logistic applications and automatic test equipment. Specific Job Description: The role requires the individual to work in a small team, providing Pre Sales Engineering support to the land domain training and simulation business development team. This will be a junior role within the existing team and the expectation is that the selected individual will receive development training / mentoring in order to be fully effective in the role. This post would suite either: A systems engineer with a grounding in the use of simulation systems to support training, or An ex UK MOD employee with ground domain training expertise, combined with either a technical degree or in service technical training related to the delivery of simulation systems The support provided to business development covers a range of activities but is focused on developing technical training solutions in the military land training domain, using either existing Lockheed Martin applications, best of breed applications from commercial suppliers or the development of new in house application. Duties / Responsibilities: Specific responsibilities would be assisting in the following areas: Maintaining an overview of existing and planned LM TLS training technologies. Managing LMUK MST IR&D and other experimentation projects. Developing proof of concept technology demonstrators in support of both business development and capture. Conducting requirements analysis and the generation of derived system requirements. Required Skills: Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work well in a small team environment. Either a: Qualification / expereince of working as a systems engineer in a simulation and training enviroment or; Background in the delivery of training in the MOD in the ground domain combined with a technical degree or in service technical training. Be capable of technical innovation and development. The ability to produce and present status presentations and proposal to either Customers or Lockheed Martin Senior Managers. Standard Job Description: Designs and defines system architecture for new or existing complex computer systems. Determines systems specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and maintenance of system security. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Identifies, analyzes, and resolves program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions. May provide technical guidance for database administrators and software developers. Typical Minimum Education & Experience: Ideally require a Bachelors degree from an accredited college and capability typically achieved through demonstrable professional experience.
