Working at a customer site, this contract provides support to NATS (National Air Traffic Systems) in maintaining the existing operational systems. This program of work will run parrallel to Lockheed Martin providing guidance, support and key Systems Engineering input into the new and exciting venture to completely replace these existing systems by developing a new strategic platform specifically for the ATM business. Your personal input into this new platform design will help NATS lead the way in ATM technology, with the rest of Europe watching. Lockheed Martin are looking for Systems Engineers to be part of the LM/NATS project team to help shape, define, design, develop and deliver these new solutions. Specific Job Description: The Systems Engineers will be responsible for understanding and translating the customer needs and assist in the delivery of innovative solutions to these challenging customer problems. The role will be to work as part of an energised team throughout the whole engineering lifecycle, to ensure the successful and focused delivery of solutions. This role will involve close liaison with the Customer and Supplier communities, along with working closely with the Programme and Project Management Teams in Lockheed Martin. The successful candidate will need to have extensive Systems Engineering experience, preferably including a demonstrable knowledge of Enterprise Bus/Service Orientated Architecture based systems with the ability to converse as the high level architecture as well as the low level design layers. Experience in designing Cloud based Platforms would also be an advantage. Required Skills: To provide a demonstrable knowledge of Cloud based Platforms, including: Hypervisor – VMWare, Compute - CISCO UCS, Storage - Netapp FAS/IBM storwise Networks – CISCO (LAN and WAN), Firewalls – Checkpoint ITSM – CA. Automation – VMWare vRealize/BMC CMP/Cisco UCSD/HP Rapid conversion of high level requirements and Enterprise architectures into a Software Architecture to enable acurate estimating to be achieved. An ability to understand and translate customer needs and expectations, ensuring this results in the generation of mutually beneficial solutions and/or alternatives Comprehensive understanding and demonstrable implementation experience of all stages of the systems engineering lifecycle at the portfolio/systems integration level Experience in working and leading teams in Agile Scrum and aIternative working methodologies – including Scrum Masters & Backlog Prioritisation experience Ability to lead, encorage and influence cross functional and multi location teams Ability to define new processes and drive these through to their implementation Confidence to work independently and within a fast-paced team Enthusiastic self-starter with excellent verbal communication skills and able to present to other SE’s members of the team, or customers at any level. Analysis is performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
