The internship will focus on social media marketing and
communication via our Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter channels,
design and production of a monthly e-bulletin, design of marketing
materials, website content management, market research and
intelligence, event’s support particularly for the forthcoming OPEN
DAYS 2015-European Week of Regions and Cities and general admin
support.
The intern will be in involved in work with senior politicians on
events such as the EU Cohesion policy conference or the annual
OPEN DAYS at the EU Commission, Directorate-General for Regional
and Urban Policy. In addition, within the UK, we work with Think
Tanks such as the Smith Institute on events with a direct policy
focus. Such events are held at the Palace of Westminster or the
House of Commons.
Task description
The Regional Studies Association (RSA) is the global forum for city
and regional research, development, and policy.
The RSA works with its international membership to facilitate the
highest standards of theoretical development, empirical analysis and
policy debate of issues at this sub-national scale, incorporating both
the urban and rural and different conceptions of space such as cityregions and interstitial spaces.
The Association’s journals, magazines and books, along with our
global-to-local series of conferences and events position us as a key
forum in shaping and disseminating advances in regional studies and
science. Members come from economics, geography, political
science, planning and sociology backgrounds. Most work in
academia but many are working in policy and practice, and
membership is truly global.

The RSA office is based in Seaford, East Sussex, UK which on the
south coast of England, close to the buzzing city of Brighton
(www.visitbrighton.com) and 80 minutes by train from central
London.
The intern will be working in our lively and shared office in Seaford,
East Sussex. We will provide all work equipment required and
support needed. All tasks related to this position can be learnt on
the job.
