Starting the Contest: Week of January 11, 2016 Send a letter (see insert for example letter) to parents of students in grades 3-5 with: - Reasons the school is using the Four-Way Test - Specifics about the contest, rules and regulations - Details about winners and prizes - Deadlines Begin the contest, with consistent reminders through morning announcements, in-class reminders and posters. Choose a Contest: Poster or PowerPoint (CHOOSE 1 CONTEST FOR ENTIRE GRADE): Monday, January 11, 2016 – Please e-mail donna_matt@yahoo.com on or before this date to let us know what contest has been chosen per grade. POSTER CONTEST Poster dimensions and specifications: Elementary school chooses one of the following for 3rd, 4th or 5th 22” x 28” - whole poster board 22” x 14” - half poster board 12” x 18” - construction paper Student Name, Grade and Teacher’s Name must appear on back of poster POWERPOINT CONTEST Slideshow must be 1 minute but no longer than 3 minutes School Counselors will choose top 6 entries per grade and load 6 entries per grade onto ONE flash drive or e-mail for judging Student name, Grade and Teacher’s Name must appear on first slide Judging Criteria for Poster and PowerPoint: Quality, Color, Design and Content Must address all four elements of the Four-Way Test Collecting Entries: Week of March 7, 2016 Your appointed Rotarian will pick up your entries. Naming Winners: Monday, March 21, 2016 A letter will be sent home to families Winners will be notified via morning announcements.
