Subject: Announcing the First Annual TechSafe Poster and Video Contest
To support the School District of Palm Beach County’s efforts to promote positive, safe, and ethical use of
technology resources, the Division of Information Technology, the Department of Educational Technology, Library
Media Services and Single School Culture Initiatives© for Climate will be conducting an optional video and poster
contest for all students enrolled in SDPBC-run Palm Beach County Schools. The purpose of the contest is for
students to create posters or Public Service Announcements (PSAs) that send powerful messages regarding respect
towards others, and reiterate the meaningful strategies learned in the TechSafe Lessons.
This contest will provide students and teachers an opportunity to explore topics related to the District’s TechSafe
Program of instruction that covers subjects such as digital citizenship, cyberbullying, online safety and privacy, and
the appropriate use of technology. Three grand prize winners will be awarded in elementary school, middle
school, and high school categories.
The First Annual Palm Beach Student TechSafe Contest is being sponsored by Dell. Dell has agreed to provide a
classroom pizza party for the winning classroom at each level. Additionally, Dell will give each student (and
