ACT National High School Poster Concept Contest:
Design a poster that from your perspective encourages students to attend college
and to take the ACT test.
Entry form and poster must be postmarked on or between:
OCTOBER 18, 2010 and JANUARY 31, 2011.
Scholarships awarded: $1,000-$5,000
Nestle Very Best In Youth
Recognizes young people who are making a positive difference in their lives and
others. Teacher nominated, student completes application by:

Prizes awarded plus $1,000 donation to students charity of choice
Prudential Spirit of Community Awards and President’s Volunteer Service Award
Recognizes youth volunteerism and positive acts by students. Submit completed
application forms (http://spirit.prudential.com) to principal by:
NOVEMBER 1, 2010
Scholarships awarded: $1,000 or more, engraved medallion and trip to DC
11th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Fine Arts and Essay Display
Student artwork and essays based on Dr. King’s Six Principles of Nonviolence.
Can be done by writing, painting, drawing, sculpting and photography. Entries must be
postmarked by:

Display showcased at the Empire State Plaza from 1/10-1/17/11.
The Irish History Writing Contest
Essay contest based on “The Fighting 69th – Then and Now”. Assesses students
knowledge of topic and their opinion, judged on creativity and writing abilities. Submit
essays to counselor by:

Roswell Park Cancer Institute Summer Research Participation Program
