Used Book Swap – Please allow students to come to the media center to drop off their
“gently” used books anytime Monday through Wednesday. We will keep a list of
students. On Wednesday afternoon, we will put tickets for your students in your
boxes. Thursday and Friday will be the 2 days they can redeem their tickets and get
“new” used books. Any leftovers will be donated to classroom teachers.
Depending on how many we receive, we will send out a “swap” day schedule for
when your class may come on Thursday and/or Friday.
Daily Trivia Contest – We will run the trivia questions after MN4K each morning for K-1st,
2nd- 3rd and 4th- 5th. They will also be displayed in the media center. Answer sheets
and boxes will be set up for their answers on tables in the media center. Students
may submit answers into the box DAILY.
Guess the Reader Contest - A mystery reader will be featured on MN4K each morning.
Students may guess who they think the reader is. Students may submit answers
into the box DAILY.
Free Book Drawings - Students will enter their name only ONE time for the entire week
into this box in the media center. Daily winners will be drawn.
Guessing Game - Students will watch MN4K every morning and guess how many times
the Cat in the Hat appears on the show for the week.
Book Trailer Contest – Students will create a video book trailer. A brief instruction page
for parents and students will be sent home in their Wednesday folders. Entries
may be posted online with a link provided to Mrs. Peck or they maybe be submitted
on a burned DVD. Entries will be accepted in the media center Monday through
Thursday morning after MN4K. Winners will be announced on Friday.
Poetry Contest – Students will write a poem about how books inspire their imagination.

Dr. Seuss Movie Day – We did not include this information on student handouts, but we
will be showing Dr. Seuss movies throughout the day on Friday. We will email a
complete schedule to you.
