SENIOR DRESS FOR GRADUATION
Graduation is June 6, 2015 at 8:00 PM in Alvin ISD Memorial Stadium. Graduates must
be in Gym III by 6:30 PM dressed appropriately to be permitted to participate in the
ceremony.
Commencement has a strict dress code requirement. The purpose for this is to contribute
to the dignified atmosphere our students deserve as they graduate. At Commencement,
graduates must wear the designated cap, gown (collar for girls), and tassel. The tassel
must be worn on the left side until the class is certified as graduated.
Gentlemen should wear a white dress shirt (with a collar), regular dress tie, navy or
black colored dress trousers or slacks, and dark colored dress shoes or boots (no tennis or
casual shoes) and be clean shaven without earrings. Ladies should wear a dress with a
straight skirt that is of a color that does not show through nor extend below the gown or
black slacks and white dress shirt. Shoes or sandals should be dark colored and low
heeled or wedged. NO HIGH HEELED SHOES WITH SPIKES ARE PERMITTED
DUE TO THE SURFACE OF THE FIELD! NO JEANS or DENIM ARE
PERMITTED!
Graduates who come to the activities improperly attired will be turned away and not
allowed to participate unless they change to proper attire. It is our wish that all students
participate in our activities and that is why we are letting you know well ahead of time.
Graduation Practice will be on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at 9:30 AM at Alvin High School.
We will meet in Gym III and then proceed to the football field. All graduates must attend
to walk. Dress for practice is casual.
