Dear Parents/Carers,
Swimming Gala
A reminder that our swimming gala for pupils in Year 5 and 6 will be held at Eirias Leisure Centre on Monday
morning (12th May). We expect to start at about 9:30 a.m.
If any parents are available to help us walk pupils to and from the centre we would be very grateful. Can we
please ask any willing volunteers to report to Reception for around 9:00 a.m.
Parent Introduction Meetings
At the beginning of each year we usually hold meetings with the class teachers and all parents of each year
group so that staff can outline expectations and requirements for the year ahead. Following feedback from
parents last year we have decided to bring these meetings forward and hold them before them summer break
this time. We hope that this will make it easier for you (and your children) to prepare for the year ahead.
The meetings will be held on the following dates:
Year 2 parents (meeting Yr3 staff) – Wednesday July 1st
Year 3 parents (meeting Yr4 staff) – Tuesday July 2nd
Year 4 parents (meeting Yr 5 staff) – Monday July 7th
Year 5 parents (meeting Yr 6 staff) – Thursday July 3rd
As in previous years meetings will start at around 3:20 p.m. and last approximately 30 minutes. Children who
attend Hen Golwyn can be supervised during the meeting but we are unable to provide supervision for younger
or older pupils.
Please try to come along as the meetings will help to continue to develop the strong links between school and
home and ensure that pupils will get the most out of the next academic year. Please let your child know if they
need to be supervised while you attend and we can ensure that they go straight to the hall at the end of the day.

Thursday May 15th – Class and team photographs
Friday May 23rd – End of Half Term
Monday June 2nd – Pupils due back in
Monday June 9th – 11th – Nant BH residential visit Year 5 pupils
Monday June 23rd – Pentrellyncymer residential visit Year 4 pupils
Wednesday June 25th – Year 5 transition day at Bryn Elian
Friday June 27th (a.m.) – Sports Day at Eirias (all are welcome to attend)
Tuesday July 1st – Friday July 4th – Year 6 transition week
Tuesday July 1st – Induction day (pupils move to new classes)
Friday July 4th – Year 5 visit to Theatre Clwyd
Monday July 7th – Reports due out
Friday July 18th – End of Summer Term
