PRESS RELEASE Cathedral for Courtyard Kids This year (2012) has been a fantastic year for The Courtyard, and has been a record year for building partnerships throughout Herefordshire to try and boost the profile of the building as a whole. As well as the pantomime, Dick Whittington, the Hereford based Arts Centre will be performing the under 6 year old production of The Very Ugly Duckling, which runs until Saturday 29 December. The Courtyard has a very successful Kids Club scheme that was re-launched in March, which offers discounts and incentives for under 6 year olds. The Cathedral School in Hereford have recently jumped on board to officially sponsor the Kids Club to try and engage children with the arts. Tim Wheeler, Headmaster of Hereford Cathedral Junior School, said: “We are delighted to support The Courtyard and sponsor the fantastic Kids Club. With so many exciting things going on at the Arts Centre there is every reason for the children of Herefordshire to get excited about joining the Kids Club” The new and improved membership costs only £10 a year and includes offers on selected film, theatre and workshops as well as a discounted party package (food and film). There is a new discount category for family members, and children also receive a Christmas and Birthday Card from the membership mascot, Tales. Martyn Green, Chief Executive of The Courtyard, said: “It is great to be able to do so much for families, and there is generally great support from people of Herefordshire to come and watch these unique children’s shows. The Café Bar is also a fun, safe place to spend the afternoon with children’s sized portions to cater for all”. Moving on to the new season and new year there are plenty of fun family shows for all to see including; There’s a Monster in My Piano (January 20th) , Little Bo Peep and Sally the Sunflower all of which use fun music with singing and dancing to entertain the littlest of people. Members of the Kids Club get a £1 discount all of these shows. For family fun this Christmas period, The Courtyard are also allowing one adult to go free to their festive screenings of Madagascar 3: Europes Most Wanted (PG) when purchasing a family ticket. A family ticket comprises of 2 adults and 2 children. Quote ‘family offer’ when booking tickets to claim this discount.
