YOUNG LIFE JUNIOR LEADER
JOB DESCRIPTION
Purpose: To present the Gospel of Jesus Christ incarnationally to teenagers within
our surrounding area, so that they may be able to know and respond to Him.
Job Title: Volunteer Junior Leader (i.e. – a high school student leading in WyldLife)
Note: He/she needs to be a junior or senior in high school
Relationships:
• Is supervised by the Area Director & club team leader.
• Will work closely with a volunteer leadership team.
• Will have personal friendships with middle school kids.
Responsibilities:
• Attend leadership meetings (twice a month) and weekly club meetings.
• Take kids to summer camp (if at all possible).
• Do contact work once a week (wherever middle school kids are).
• Attend special events as assigned by the club team coordinator:
• Campaigners • Weekend camps • Camping • Training seminars
• Pray for the people, kids and the mission of Young Life.
Time Required:
3 hours/twice a month, Club Meetings
4 hours/month, Leadership Meetings and Prayer (Leadership is every other Saturday night)
2 hours/week, Campaigners Bible Study (on need basis)
1-2 hours/week, Contact Work
7-8 hours/week, TOTAL
Training and Support Provided:
• You will be trained by the area director and senior volunteers.
• You will be encouraged to attend training seminars (but don’t worry, they’re fun).
• You will be challenged to grow spiritually.
Qualifications and Special Skills:
• Maturing and growing Christian.
• Ability to communicate with kids.
• Willingness to be trained.
• Involved in a church.
Comments: This is the most important and most rewarding position in
Young Life. Without the volunteer leader, there would be no ministry.
