Meeting Minutes 03-03-2015
Faithful Navigator Deacon Johnny Salinas opened the meeting at 7:29pm. 33 Sir Knights were in attendance.
Opening prayer was offered by Faithful Friar Deacon Johnny Salinas.
Pledge of Allegiance was led by Faithful Navigator Deacon Johnny Salinas.
Opening ceremonies were performed by chair officers.

Faithful Friar position is vacant; Deacon Johnny Salinas reported as follows:
 Today’s Gospel focused on Christ instructing regarding the Pharisees—“Do what they tell you, but don’t follow their
example.” Christ is being hard on the Pharisees.
o They don’t practice what they preach; they like to show off and place large burdens on others, but do not help.
 We are to be humble servants of God, even in the Fourth Degree.
o We don’t put on the regalia to show off, we do it for service.
Faithful Navigator Deacon Johnny Salinas reported as follows:
 Recognized PFNs in attendance: Bob Cage, Joe Escalona, James Urbanovsky, Bill Florez, Don Payne.
o We have a guest from Assembly 3181, Douglas Bradley.
 Today at 1:36pm we got the memo that Knightline was available online.
 Communication from the District Master
o St. Patrick’s Day Parade next Saturday, starting at Minute Maid Park.
 Wear regalia if weather is good, wear your council/assembly shirt if it is rainy.
o State Convention Masses
 Opening Mass on Friday, May 1 at 5pm celebrated by Cardinal DiNardo
 Remembrance Mass on Sunday, May 3 at 8am celebrated by Bishop Strickland
 Mike has asked for PFNs in white capes to escort the Eucharistic Ministers at both masses.
Trustees read Bills and Communications as follows:
 $143.63 to Shawn Reichhardt for March meal
 $125.00 donation to Cathedral Centre for March rent



$72.35 to Navigator for postage
Faithful Comptroller Bob Cage reported as follows:
 We have two Sir Knights looking to join our assembly—Douglas Bradley and former member Will Elliott.
o Will was a model Sir Knight, when Bob was FN, he would have Will show up in regalia to interviews to
demonstrate the proper way to wear the regalia.
 We have 354 members and over $4700 collected in dues. We are rolling.

Faithful Purser Leonard Kasowski reported as follows:
 Things are looking up: we have $13,700 in the checking account.
 Taking income and expenses into consideration, we’re about $10,000 to the good with 3 more months to go.
o Our budget looks like we’ll be right on the money.
Faithful Pilot Michael White was not present; Officers reported on Turn Outs is as follows:
 We had a Chalice Turnout for SK Lester Lacobie this past week with 8 Sir Knights in attendance, 4 from our assembly
 Holy Thursday turn out is intensive, we not only show for mass but we post by the Eucharist until midnight. We need more
Sir Knights coming out, particularly the younger ones who are used to staying up until midnight.
 Chrism Mass will be on Tuesday, March 31. Will likely be announced as a District Turn Out.
Faithful Captain Shawn Reichhardt reported on the Sick and Distressed as follows:
 2 Sir Knights have passed away so far this year—Pahacheck and Okoli
 Whittled the Sick & Distressed list down a bit, let us know if any others need to be added or dropped.
 We need concrete arrangements prior to ordering a chalice for a chalice presentation, chalice can be ready in 2 weeks time
 Added Irene Richard (cancer) and Harry Hunter (surgery) to the list.
Committee Chairmen reported as follows:
 Pro Life
o Helpers of God’s Precious Infants will have mass at St. Jerome’s Catholic Church on March 21 at 8:00am.
Following mass they will relocate to a Planned Parenthood satellite clinic off 290 for prayerful vigil.
o On Good Friday, Helpers will be at the Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart for the 8:00am mass, then will march to a
nearby abortion clinic in the midtown area.
 VA Visitation
o We have a VA visitation on March 29, please show up in your assembly polo shirts.
Reading of Applications by Faithful Admiral Bill Florez as follows:
 We have one application, Harold D Willis from Holy Rosary Council 11023. Hasn’t been through interview yet.
 Interviews will be on April 13 and April 27, prior to the exemplification on May 30 in Katy, TX.

Report of the Third Degree:
 Co-Cathedral of the Sacred Heart will have their Caritas Day (day of service) on Saturday, March 28. Come out and
participate in Lenten Acts of Service!
 Council 803 will have their Chili Cook Off on Saturday, March 28. Tasting cups are $5. Come out and enjoy some great
chili, beer, live music, and an auction, all benefitting the scholarship fund.
The Good of the Order was conducted by Faithful Inner Sentinel H.K. Hogans as follows:
 Navigator told a joke, H.K. welcomed Doug and Will to the Wilhelm Assembly.
 Michael White won the last raffle, was not present this time, did not receive his free ticket, offer is expired.
o Drawing for winning ticket: #582179, Dcn. Johnny Salinas won $39.
 We want everyone to believe in yourselves. In times of trouble you will develop a stronger sense of who you are.
