A total yarding of 596 head of cattle were penned at Roma’s Prime Sale on
Thursday.
Steers over 550kg sold to 310c/kg and averaged 299c/kg, while steers in the 400550kg earned to 302c/kg and averaged 286c/kg. Heifers over 450kg sold to 295c/kg
and averaged 284c/kg, while heifers in the 350-450kg sold to 294c/kg and averaged
271c/kg. Cows over 500kg peaked at 270c/kg and averaged 261c/kg, while cows in
the 400-500kg class topped at 261c/kg and averaged 242c/kg. Cows 300-400kg sold
to 246c/kg and averaged 217c/kg. Bulls over 600kg topped at 291c/kg and averaged
259c/kg.
