Written and Oral Biography Book Report
Due: April 15, 2014
*No LATE papers or presentations will be accepted except for true
emergencies approved by Ms. Bruno. If you will not be at school on the day
of the presentation please arrange with Ms. Bruno ahead of time to schedule
your presentation on an earlier day.*
1. Please choose a biography book and have it approved by Ms.
Bruno by March 28, 2014.
2. Please use the attached form to write the written part of the book
report which will be due on April 15, 2014.
-You will need to include a cover page: an illustration of
your person, title and author of book, and your name. The blank
page in the packet is for your title page.
3. We will be having a Biography Tea Party in class on April 15, 2014.
-You will DRESS UP as the person you read about, or dress up
for a party and bring an appropriate prop. (For example: Thomas
Edison wore a tie). You will change at school.
-Then, at our Tea Party each person will give a brief 2-3 minute
informational speech about his/her life (in character). You will
also be asked questions and you will have the opportunity to ask
each other some questions. You will not be able to read from
your report. You will want to write some notes on an index card,
which you can use during your speech. Make sure you practice
what you will say ahead of time. Hint: practice your speech a
couple of times in front of a mirror or in front of someone else so
that you feel comfortable with what you will say.
-If your person had/has a favorite food or beverage that you
would like to share with the class during the tea party please feel
free to bring it in but please let Ms. Bruno know ahead of time
(this part is optional).
