UČNA PRIPRAVA ZA TIMSKO POUČEVANJE Team Teaching Lesson Plan Predmet Subject Letnik, razred Class Učni sklop, tema Topic Zaporedna št. ure No. of lessons Computer Science and English 3rd year Electrical and Electronics Engineering Introduction to Pneumatics 1 Žarišče ure oz. sklopa: Lesson focus: Professional literacy development during laboratory work (learning technical vocabulary, critical thinking) Vrsta timskega poučevanja Traditional, Supportive Team teaching type Učna oblika Frontal, individual work, work in pairs Teaching design Učna metoda Team teaching (Traditional, Supportive) Teaching method Discussion Učna sredstva in pripomočki Teachers - za učitelja - computer, internet, projector, speakers, teacher hand-out, - za dijake presentation slides, white board, markers, lab equipment Teaching aids, devices Students - teacher - student hand-out, writing materials, lab equipment - student Potrebno predznanje dijakov / Prior required knowledge Students need to have experience in giving oral report about laboratory experiments. Students need to be familiar with basic principles of process control. Goals introducing the concept of pneumatics in Slovene language conducting practical experiments on pneumatic equipment developing technical English vocabulary related to the practical work reporting orally (in English) on the practical work answering questions (in English) about the practical work explaining how directional valves and cylinders work designing part of an industrial pneumatic system Learning outcomes At the end of the lesson, students will be able to: conduct their experiment on pneumatics explain and use the newly introduced English vocabulary in their oral reports answer questions (in English) about their practical work explain how directional valves and cylinders work design part of an industrial pneumatic system Lesson Activities POTEK UČNE URE / Activity 1. Introduction 10 m Teacher and student activities Computer Science Teacher Foreign Teacher Briefly introduce the Prepare the computer and concept of pneumatics in English materials Slovene language Elicit answers from students 2. Instructions for Give instructions for the practical work practical work 5m 3. Practical work Circulate the class and help 25 m students with the technical part 4. Feedback and Help students answer the homework questions. 5m Ask students about the advantages and disadvantages of pneumatics Introduce English key words from the practical work and tell students that they will encounter these words while using the simulation software. Give further instructions regarding English-related tasks. Circulate the class and ask students to report orally on their practical work Ask students to provide oral feedback regarding the English questions on the hand-out. Ask students to complete the hand-out as homework. Students Listen Answer questions in English Listen to instructions Write down key words Conduct experiments and report orally in English Provide feedback Evaluation The lesson went well for the most part and the learning objectives were mostly achieved. One of key concerns with shadow teaching is to make sure to do enough with the students without getting too much in their way, as they conduct their practical work. There was a fine balance between both in most cases, however, the slower students did not always appreciate having to do language work as they struggled with the pneumatic installations.
