JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Generalist REPORTS TO: Human Resources Director DEPARTMENT: Human Resources EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Hourly, Non-exempt LOCATION: Bellingham JOB PURPOSE: The HR Generalist performs all aspects of Human Resources, including recruiting, onboarding, employee benefits, leave administration and employee relations. ICHC manages patient care using a team-based approach in our interactions with patients and working to achieve stated objectives and outcomes. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field preferred or equivalent education, training, and experience. Minimum three years of experience working in Human Resources required. Certification and Licensure: Professional in Human Resources (PHR) a plus. Valid Washington State Driver’s License preferred. Specialized Skills & Knowledge: Proven proficiency performing research using the internet and other resources. Knowledge of modern principles and practices of HR management. Knowledge of healthcare recruiting and healthcare operations. Knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and compensation packages. Other Qualifications: Proven ability to effectively communicate, verbally & in writing, with all levels of staff personnel, outside agencies, and the general public. Leads recruitment process to provide qualified candidates for vacant positions through advertising, recruiting, developing, recommending and applying selection processes including working with the hiring supervisor on position qualification revisions and assessment tools (interview questions, testing, etc.). 2. Maintains strong communication with candidates via phone, written correspondence, and personal contact from the initial Page 3 of 7 inquiry phase through the interview process and upon hire/orientation or no offer/decline status. 3. Screens all applicants for qualification, professionalism, and minimum requirements (licensure, background checks, certifications) and refers most qualified candidates for interviews. Coordinates site visits with supervisor, other position stakeholders and candidates. Recommends compensation packages to HR Director and, upon approval, extends offer. 4. Coordinates orientation for new hires and may conduct orientations 5. Develop recruiting contacts with external sourcing agencies; training, residency and fellowship programs, other healthcare recruiters, etc. 6. Assists the Compliance Specialist with the credentialing of new employees, including communicating credentialing process and documents needed to provider and coordinating provider start date. . 7. Assists supervisors and employees in employee relations, providing advice and counseling on a wide-range of human resources subjects. Assists employees in resolving work related problems. Acts as an internal expert on ICHC Personnel Policies. 8. Provides benefit information to employees and assists with annual open enrollment. 9. Administers various protected leaves for employees, including FMLA and Pregnancy. Counsels employees and supervisors on leave availability, reviews eligibility and tracks hours. 10.
